Taylor yesterday announced that Reserve Policemen George XV. Smith and John J. Comerford and Policemen John J. Gil-trip, Peter S. Cunningham and Thomas Duffy, bf the Eleventh and Winter streets station, had been suspended from duty and ordered before the Police Board, charged with accepting money from women of a questionable character.

All of the bluecoats deny the charges and say that politics are at the bottom of Superintendent Taylor's latest move. Policeman Duffy, who has been connected with the Eleventh and Winter streets station, was most emphatic in denying that there was any truth in the charge made against him. Superintendent Taylor maintained that he had made an tigation and had discovered evidence to substantiate the charges. The accused bluecoats will face the Police Board on Tuesday next. WILMINGTON NEWS NOTES Special to The Inquirer.

In the City Court today James Demby, colored, who has been wanted by the police since last February for committing a murderous assault on Bessie Anderson, was held under $500 bail for court. Demby has been livln? in Pennsylvania, and supposing his offense had been forgotten, wandered into this city and was At the meeting of the Street Sewer Department today the Delaware Gas and Coke Company, which some time ago withdrew its application for a light franchise and joined with the Brandywine Gas and Electric Company in its application, withdrew from the combination and announced that it would make a formal application of its own and ask for a franchise. At a meeting of the creditors of F.

H. "Wetteroth, the proprietor of the Hotel Wilmington, who was recently declared a bankrupt, Robert Pennington was today chosen trustee. In order to allow the Pennsylvania Bail-road to build an auxiliary freight yard nt Landlith, in this city, a number of streets which -had been condemned were today vacated by the Street and Sewer Department. Postmaster Henry C. Conrad today received permission from Washington to add two additional clerks to the local post-office force, and named Joseph N.

Middle-ton. and Clarence L. Brown to the positions. Strawbrldge Clothier, of Philadelphia, have been awarded the contract to redecorate and refurnish the auditorium of West Presbyterian Church, in this city. The work will require about six weeks to complete, and the church will be closed for that time.

MARYLAND NEWS NOTES Special to The Inquirer. ELKTOX, July 16. The Cecil County Circuit Court today in special session heard argument in the case of Dudley D. Smith and others against Gilbert Smith, involving the estate of the late E. T.

Hogg, located near Port Deposit. The suit is brought to compel the sale of an estate valued at more than $1,000,000, Chief Jndge Pearce. who heard the argument, reserved his decision. J. Thomas Fletcher, a former Sheriff, and one of the best known men in Kent county, was found dead at his-home in Broad Neck last night by his -sister-in-law.

Mr. Fletcher -was president-of the Board of Election Supervisors, and at one time was a County Commissioner for Kent county. Leonard Burkenstein, of Wilmington, while ridlnar-oifcJ-a -freight train afll- ff last night the train, was passing Perry-ville and fractured his skull and jaw. a 1 Miss Ella F. SDrlnger.

Dentist Carries Bride to Germany Special to The Inquirer. FELTON. July 17. The marriage of Miss Grace Sunfield. daughter of the pastor of Felton M.

E. Church, Rev. E. C. Sunfield, took place early this afternoon In the gayly decorated church, and was attended by a large company of townspeople.

The bridegroom was Dr. H. C. Culver, a Pennsylvania dentist, who is now practicing and conducting experiments in dentistry in Germany. The bride and bridegroom left Felton on the early evening Norfolk train for New York to sail at once for Germany, where Dr.
