In fact It was a phenomena neriod for this season of the year. The nermlts issued numbered 117, for 216 oper ations, estimated to cost $787,020, as nirninst 71 oermits. for 95 operations, estl mated to cost $80,805, in the preceding week, and 73 permits, for 118 operations, to cost in the corresponding week of last year. The principal new work embraced within this week's permits was 104 dwellings, to cost an office building, two lactones, and a church, $14,000, and a school, 100, 000.
