Bell 84, former owner of Brand Service Centers Inc. in Waukegan, also served from 1950 to 1977 as president and then chairman of Burgess Vibro-crafters a Grayslake manufacturer of small electric appliances and tools. Mr. Bell also had been a community leader in Glen-View and Lake County.

A former resident of Glenview and Mundelein and more recently of Friendship Village in Schaum-burg, he died there Sunday. He joined C.F. Burgess Laboratories Inc. as vice president in Forest Preserve District. "He was really devoted to public service, wherever he lived and whatever he did," his son, Robert, said.

Other survivors include his wife of 59 years, Irene; two others sons, George Jr. and David; three daughters, Susan Williams, Lfcida Milewski and Nancy Shepherd; two sisters; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Kristan Funeral Home, 219 W. Maple Mundelein.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Ivanhoe Congregational Church, Illinois Highways 176 and 83, Mundelein. 1940. It became Burgess Battery Co. in 1946 and then was Burgess Vibrocrafters Inc.

Mr. Bell was a Glenview trustee from 1955 to 1959 and also was president of homeowners and community associations in Glenview and Mundelein, respectively. In the late 1960s, he served as president of the Libertyville-Mun-delein High School District and from 1971 to 1985 as supervisor of Fremont Township.

Whaples, 79, a home-maker from Harvard, died Friday in Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. She was born in Sharon, Wis. Mrs. Whaples is survived by two sons, Gilbert and Frank; two daughters, Anna Randall and Debra Hayden; a sister; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m.

Saturday in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard. Robert F. Gleeson F. Gleeson, 65, a Liber-tyville trustee whose efforts helped pave the way for the new Wisconsin Central commuter rail line and improve traffic and parking conditions in the northern suburb, died Friday in Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Gleeson was a computer consultant and a resident of Libertyville for. 25 years. He was a former president of the Liberty ville-Mundelein-Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce, a former Buffalo Grove trustee and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He also was a founding member and the executive director for the Transportation Management Association of Lake County.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; two sons, Michael iand Daniel; two daughters, Rafferty and Karen Behr; a Sister, and 14 grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday oh McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park 'PL, Libertyville. John Mrowca John Mrowca, 85, a longtime Chicago resident who once earned his living delivering coal and oil to his neighbors in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, died Sundayin Holy Cross Hospital. Mr.

Mrowca worked in the stockyards, then owned a coal and oil delivery company, working throughout his neighborhood around Ashland Boulevard and 47th Street.
