(AP) Boston's Babe Parilli threw two touchdown passes to end Gino Cappelletti Sunday to lead the previously winless Patriots to a 22-6 victory over the previously undefeated San Diego Chargers. Cappelletti, who also kicked two field goals, teamed with Parilli on a 46-yard scoring play with 11:52 left to play, clinching the victory.

Boston is now 1-6-1. The Chargers are 1-1-2. Parilli hit Cappelletti with a 29-yard touchdown pass late in the first period after tie Pa triots had opened scoring with a safety. The Chargers were shut out until 7:08 left to play when fullback Keith Lincoln plunged over from the one. The Charger score was set up by a 61-yard pass from reserve quarterback Don Breaux to Don Norton.

Cappelletti widened the Bos ton margin to 22-0 with a 33- yard field goal after Tom Addison stole a Breaux pass with nine minutes left. Cappelletti missed a 36-yard field attempt in the last minute of the first half but was successful from the 30 in the third quarter. Linebacker Mike Dukes set the field goal by intercepting a Hadl pass and returning it to the San Diego 28. The Chargers' Herb Travenio missed two field goals outside the Patriot 40 to abort two Charger drives.

But Hadl had a big hand in wrecking one of the efforts. With a third-and-one situation on the Patriot 31, Hadl eluded the Patriot rush and appeared to have an open field ahead. He threw an incomplete pass into the end zone and was called for crossing the line of scrimmage. Then Travenio's boot from the 49 was short. Boston's Larry Garron, who gained 87 yards in 11 carries, raced 59 yards to the San Diego 21 the first time the Pats had the ball.

But Ron Burton fumbled the ball to the Chargers' George Gross on the next play. Parilli completed seven of 21 for 148 yards with two interceptions.
