Echols, 78, advertising exec i i i -Y' new product development It integrated, in an unstructured way, developing of new products with the means of bringing them to the market Mr. Echols was one of the founders of the Chicago-based Grant Advertising in 1942 and pioneered the application of American advertising techniques in Latin America and Europe. He subsequently served as executive vice president of Fuller Smith Ross Inc.

A native of Loredo, Texas, ne graduated at the age of 18 from the University of Texas. He was a member of the 197l President's Committee on Mental Retardation. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Susan OTJonnell; a son, William; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
