A-2 SUNDAY, FEB. 10, 2002 DAILY DIGEST Obituaries Larry Padula Larry Padula died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002. He was 48. The Santa Rosa native, born to Elmer and Lorraine Padula on Oct.

24, 1953, graduated from Willits High School in 1971 and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. A "self-taught electronics technician who could, and did, fix anything and everything people brought him for repair," Mr. Padula was also "an excellent golfer and truly loved the game," a family spokesperson said. For many years, Mr. Padula also managed the family's produce ranches in the San Joaquin Valley.

"He was a kind and gentle person who was loved by all who knew him, especially children," the spokesperson said. He leaves his mother, Lorraine Padula; brothers Jim and Rich Padula; sister Nancy Coffman and brother-in-law Warren Coffman. Four nieces and nephews Justin, Allyson, Kevin and Logan also survive. Funeral services were held Jan. 31, at St.

Anthony's Catholic Church. Francis Margaret Baughn Francis Margaret Baughn died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at a local hospital. She was 73. Funeral services will be 1 p.m.

Monday at the Ukiah Cemetery Chapel, with graveside services following. Visitation is today from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eversole Mortuary. There will be a celebration of "Fran's" life following the service at the home of her son, Jerry Baughn of Ukiah.

Born on Aug. 24, 1928, in Bismarck, N.D., Mrs. Baughn was a resident of the area for 48 years. She married C.H. Baughn on Feb.

15, 1947, and was the self-employed owner of Baughn Cameron Trailer Sales Twin Palms Mobile Home Park. She was most proud of her son, Jerry, and grandchildren and great grandchildren, a family spokesperson said. Mrs. Baughn graduated from high school in Tacoma, Wash. She will be remembered for her undying devotion to her family and friends.

Her favorite quote was "What can I fix you to eat?" Mrs. Baughn was a Catholic. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Baughn and his wife Maryanna, of Ukiah; daughter-in-law Terry Baughn of Ukiah; Joann Wuitschick of Tacoma, Eva Herauf of Tacoma, grandchildren Corey and wife Melanie Baughn of Ukiah, Brandy and husband Jim Hall of Fairfield, John Martin of Ukiah, Tami Martin of Ukiah; great-grandchildren Madison and Lindsay Baughn of Ukiah, Bailey and Justin Hall of Fairfield, Nicole Martin of Colusa; and numerous nieces and nephews. State Ukiah, CA 95482. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Captain (C.H.) Baughn; sister Anna Marie Decker and brother Andy Wingiter both of Tacoma, Wash. James Samuel Eagelston James Samuel Eagelston died in Carmichael on Tuesday, Feb. 5,2002. At his request, no services will be held.

Born in Bartonville, 111., on Dec. 1, 1920, Mr. Eagelston is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Eagelston, daughters Pam Eagelston with husband Bill Martin and Drucilla Eagelston with grandchildren Trevor and Heather, all of Shasta County; stepchildren Cozette Enzler with husband Ed, Johnny Johnson with wife Elena, grandchildren Eileen, Steve, Karen, Scott, Randy, John and Cathy; 12 great-grandchildren, all of Ukiah, and nephews John Eagelston and family of Roseville and Dan Eagelston of Missouri. A Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Eagelston moved to Sunnyvale in 1948.

Chairman of Sunnyvale's Planning Commission for four years and a 33-year employee of Pacific Bell, he transferred to Sacramento in 1960 and retired in 1976 as district manager Toll Switching Network Management. He enjoyed fishing at his cabin in Georgetown and taking his family to the coast for campouts. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers and an Official Abalone Pounder for the Snorkel Snoopers Dive Club. Arrangements are by Lind Brothers Mortuary, Carmichael Oaks Chapel. The victim reported she saw the suspects, who she knew, stealing marijuana plants from a shed at the rear of her residence.

Schaefer was arrested on North State Street on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime at around midnight that night. He also was in violation of his parole. Herman Dally Journil A big rig driver lost control of his vehicle and hit an embankment, spilling dlesel fuel onto the road on Highway 101 near Comminsky Station Road at 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
