14 THE TERRE HAUTE STAR, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1957. Nieces, Nephews Share Self Estate Nieces and nephews of Claybourne 0. Self will share in his estate under terms of a will admitted to probate yesterday by Probate Commissioner John F. O'Brien. A niece, Mildred Self of 1532 South Center Street, was appointed executrix with bond of $8.000.

Value of the estate is given as $20,000 in real estate and $6,135 in personal property, with annual income of $1,800. Attorney Samuel B. Davis represents the executrix. Under terms of the will the residence at 1543 South Center Street is devised to Frances M. Cornell of 1516 "South Sixth Street, and the family safe is left to Stephen Cornell.

Personal effects and items of jewelry are bequeathed to Mildred Self, who also is given two-twentieths of the estate after other specific bequests. In other bequests the will leaves two-twentieths of the estate to Wayne Self of Fort Wayne, Rex Self of Chester, Hazel Sanders of Farmersburg, Clifford Self, also of Farmarsburg; and Robert Self of Chicago, and one-twentieth each to Orion Self of R. R. 5, Sullivan; Rosa Self of Sullivan, Lucille McElrath of Sullivan and Christian Self of Sullivan. Four-twentieths of the net estate are bequeathed to another nephew, Prof.

Orion L. Stock, now of Frankfort, and formerly a member of the Rose Polytechnic Institute faculty for many years. Mr. Self, who died Oct. 25, was a former auditor for the Fidelity and Casualty Insurance Company.

His wife, Mrs. Charlotte M. Self, was a teacher in the Terre Haute schools who died last June. In another probate matter. Margaret McCaulty of 1201 Hafding Avenue was appointed adminis- tratrix of the estate of her brother, William Link, whose death occurred Oct.

13. Listed as heirs were Mrs. McCauley; two brothers, Herman Link of Jacksonville, and Henry Link of 1201 Harding Avenue; a nephew, George Link of R. R. 7, and a niece, Wanette Soames of 1230 Linden Street.

Attorney Perry Douglas is counsel for the admin- istratrix. The estate is valued at $1,300 in real estate and $500 in personal property. A. Plans Bazaar A bazaar is being planned by the Montrose School Parent-Teacher Association in connection with the annual chili supper which will be from 5 to 7:30 o'clock Friday night at the school. Chili, sandwiches, ice cream, cake and beverages will be served.

Judge Criss was critical of the state for failure to introduce in evidence a knife which Mrs.

Brown said her husband used in an attack on Oct. 9. The wife, Picola, 37-year-old mother of nine children, was stabbed. three times, one wound being above her heart. Judge Criss recalled he was lenient with Brown earlier this year when the defendant appeared on a robbery charge.

Brown was placed on probation for three years at that time. Brown has been in City and Circuit courts before. C. S. C.

Shares Earn 15 Cents for Quarter Earnings of Commercial Solvents Corporation 4 for the quarter ending Sept. 30 were 15 cents per share on 2,741,422 shares of common stock, it was announced yesterday. Consolidated net earnings were $206,252 on $17,180,728 in sales. This is 3 cents less per share than a year ago on the same amount of stock, although sales increased more than $2,000,000. For the nine months ending Sept.

30, earnings per share were 60 cents per share compared with 79 cents for the same period in 1956. Sales for the nine months this year were $46,548,018 as compared with $43,947,185 for 1956. He was served with the warrant by Sgt. John J. Hendricks, game warden of the Shakamak State Park Conservation Headquarters. Hendricks and another game warden, Charles Murphy, told Deputy Prosecutor Robert F. Wallace they recovered the head of a deer given by Moore to a Vigo County couple for mounting.

They said they had reason to believe Moore possessed the deer illegally. The State Conservation Dpartment this year has refused to open a season on deer, because the deer population has not shown sufficient increase to justify hunting. The deer hunting season, if one is declared, usually occurs during the first few days of December, it was said. Noon Optimists Will Hear Narcotics Agent Gilbert Failor, federal narcotics agent for years and in charge of this for the Middle West, will come from Indianapolis today to speak before the Optimist Noon Club during its luncheon session in the Hotel Deming's Hoosier Room. The program was arranged by Frank Riddle, Terre Haute chief of police, who also will iie a guest of the club.

Local WAC Named Outstanding Trainee Daughter of a Terre Haute woman, Mrs. Lottie Targett of 1698-A North Seventh Street, recently was named outstanding trainee at the Women's Army Corps center, Fort McClellan, Alabama, upon completion of her eight weeks of basic training. She is WAC Pvt. Rosemary Remington, a graduate of Brazil High School. Pfizer Earnings Gain Sales and earnings of Chas.

Pfizer Company, for the first three quarters of this year were higher than for any similar period in the firm's 108-year history, according to the report issued yesterday to shareholders. Sales were up 17 per cent and net earnings increased 16 per cent. Earnings were equivalent to $2.86 per share on 5,371,976 shares of common stock compared with $2.47 on 5,221,962 in 1956. Judge Is Sought To Try Templeton Three, attorneys were named yesterday in City Court by Judge Edward S. Everett, one of whom will be selected as a special judge to hear the case of Philip Templeton, 41-year-old resident of R.

R. 1, West Terre Haute, charged with drunken driving. Attorneys named include Ernest J. Zwerner, Earl M. Mann and Robert Samardick.

Defense counsel and Deputy Prosecutor Robert Wallace will each strike one of the names leaving the remaining attorney as special judge. Templeton was arrested 10 days ago for the fourth time on a charge of drunken driving. In other court matters three motorists were each fined "a total of $15.75 after pleading guilty to speeding charges. Those fined are Beverly A. O'Bannon, 24 years old, of Paris, Robert A.

Tinnel, 24, 430 North Sixth and One-half Street, and Gilly G. Smith, 17, 3254 North Twenty-fifth Street. Smith also received an additional fine of $2.75 after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle.with- out a license. William E. Arnold, 23, 1520 South Sixteenth Street, was fined $2.75 for the same offense.

Fines of $3.75 were meted out to three motorists who pleaded guilty to running red lights or flashers. Offenders were Richard Matlock, 18, 2930 Cruft Street; Lillian Kincaae, 525 Ohio Street, and Martha J. Brooker, 18, 447 South Seventeenth Street. Maxine S. Sears, 34, 1619 North Twelfth and One-half Street, was fined $2.75 for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

F. William Scott, of 721 South Harding Avenue, was fined $6.75 for operating a truck with a leaky load. A. Bean Supper Deming School Parent-Teacher Association will serve a bean supper from 5:30 to 8 o'clock Friday night in the school. The supper menu will consist of cornbread, slaw and a beverage.

Wiener handwiches and ice cream also will be sold. Entertainment planned for the 1 event will include a cake walk. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smitt are co-chairmen of the committee in charge.

HE HAS been active in civic and public affairs and currently is a member of the Board of Public Works of the City of Indianapolis.

He is a member of the Columbia Club, Indianapolis Naval Armory Mess, Indiana Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Athenaeum and of both the Indianapolis and Indiana Chambers of Commerce.
