Centennial is a joint venture of Atlantic Richfield and Du Pont. The plant, which is scheduled to begin operation in 1982, will have the capacity to consume about 100,000 barrels of crude oil a day as raw material and produce more than a billion pounds of ethylene a year, as well as quantities of propylene, butadiene, cyclohexane, toluene and xylene. These are materials used in the production of man-made fibers, plastics and elastomers. Major construction is expected to begin in 1979. The average construction force is estimated at 3,500.

When completed, the plant would employ a p- proximately 800 people. Construction costs are estimated at well over $1 billion. Sea-Arama Expands Show Attractions Sea-Arama Marineworld is expanding its entertainment fare with an "Alice In Wonderland" mermaid show in the oceanarium and a new show featuring Sea- Arama's fantasy characters, Tulip and Buttons. Dale Ware, Sea-Arama manager, said the Tulip and Buttons show also features an ill-mannered pirate.

Children attending are invited to boo the pirate and cheer Tulip and Buttons as they try to protect the Southwind treasure. The schooner Southwind is the backdrop for the show. Ware said the new shows, in addition to the daily slate of porpoise, sea lion, bear, tropical bird, snake and water ski shows, bring the count to more than 25 continuous shows and attractions, in the only marine-orinted entertainment park open daily the year round between the east and west coasts. Mack L. Pendergraf manager of Strode- Armstrong Mortuary, has been recognized for his 50 years as a licensed mortician by the Texas Funeral Directors Association. He was honored recently during the 91st annual convention and educational exhibit held by the association in San Antonio earlier this month. A graduate of Prairie View College, Pendergraff the Hampton Training School of Embalmers and Hunts' Business Institute. He passed the state board of embalming examination in 1926 and began his career working for Hogan and Davis Funeral Home in.
