State scholarships go to East Alton- Wood River seniors Alton Evening Telegraph Thursday, July 18,1970 A-15 Illinois State Scholarships and Grants have been awarded to spring graduates of the East Alton-Wood River Community High School who have registered as freshmen for the fall term at Southern Illinois University. PAMELA ZEISSET Bonnie Schuppman, daughter of Mrs. Alta Schuppman, 111 W. Jennhig, Wood River, will attend school on the Carbondale campus, and is the recipient of a State Scholarship. A member of the National Honor Society two years Bonnie transferred from the Civic Memorial High School to Wood River for her senior year.

Her extra-curricular activiteis included serving as a library assistant on the staff of the school newspaper, and affiliation with Pep Club. Art Appreciation Club, Future Teachers Association. Latin Club, Girls Athletic Association. Junior Engineers, chorus and glee club, Dramatic and Science Clubs. The recipient of a State Scholarship, Bradley A.

Oseland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Oseland, 447 Dulaney, Wood River, will further his education on the Edwardsville campus. He was elected to the National Honor Society his enior year, and served on the tudent Council two years. He was also affiliated with State nd Stammer and played ootball.

506 'rice PL, East Alton, has been warded a State Grant and the tudent Center Scholarship, and ill attend college on the Ed- vardsville campus. David played with the Conert, Marching, Cornation, and Vood Cats Stage Band each of Ms four years in high school, vas a member of the Latin and served three years the Student Council holding he office of treasurer. Planning to further his education at SIU, Ed- vardsville is Thomas A. WHle, on of Mr. and Mrs.

Rudolph Mile, 265 Penning, Wood liver. His extra curricular activities high school included serving a member of the Student Council and Latin Club. Pamela Zeisset, a two-year member of the National Honor Society, is the recipient of a State Scholarship and will at- end SIU, Edwardsville. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs Marcel Zeisset, 631 Monroe, Alton, Pamela has been ictive in the Girl's Athletic Association, Future Teachers, itage and Stammer, speech and lebate, and various groups of he vocal music department.

Her extra curricular activities high school have included: reshman Chorus, Mixed Spanish Club, Future lecretaries Association, Future Curses Association, Future Teachers Association, and the ep Club. Raymond Dvorchak has been active in the athletic program of he high school playing football baseball and basketball, and also served on the Student Council. He received an Illinois Teachers Scholarship. Raymond is the son of Mr and Mrs.

Mrshall, 266 E. Penning, Wood River, she has been affiliated with the National Thespians, Stage and Stammer Sandburr staff, Future Teachers Association, German Club, Oiler ut staff, speech and debate, Art Appreciation club serving as secretary as a junior; and was Prom co-chairman. Marilyn Goforth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrv oforth, 209 s.

Seventh St ood River. She too won an Illinois Teacher Scholarship During her high school career as active in Girls Athletic Associaton, Art An preciation Club, vocal music groups, and participated in the Harvest Queen coronation ceremonies. Registered as freshman for the fall term at Eastern Illinois Universtiy at Charleston, are spring graduates who have received State Scholar ships. Robert Culp, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Milo Culp, 686 Maurice Wood River, has also been awarded a teachers scholar ship. His extra curricular activities have included: football basketball, baseball, track Letterman's Club, serving on he Student Council, par icipation in the Coronation the Harvest Queen, and three years as a school office asisstant. National Honor Societ student Cynthia Toby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Toby Ht Pointe PL, East Alton has received an Honoran Illinois State Scholarship.

Cynthia served as a schoo office assistant three years am was also active in the Studen Council, Pep Club, Latin Club Choir and was a member the Sandburr staff.
