Mr. Crump was graduated from Heidelberg College in 1928. He founded the A.L. Crump Company in 1946, and retired in 1992. The company was primarily involved with furnishing equipment to the oil refineries and power plants.

In 1890 approximately 200 Indians and 30 soldiers were killed at Wounded Knee, S.D., in the last major conflict between Indians and U.S. troops. In 1940 German bombers inflicted the greatest damage on London in World War II since the Great Fire of 1666. In 1975 a bomb blast in the main terminal of New York's LaGuardia Airport killed 11 people and injured 70.

Miodrag Mihailovic, a doctor who also was an accomplished painter and musician, died Tuesday in South Haven Community Hospital, South Haven, Mich. He was 73.

A native of Romania, Dr. Mihailovic was the son of novelist and playwright Arlton Mihailovic, whose books dealt with those within the literary circles in Serbia, and who gained prominence for his relief work in Siberia during the Russian civil war. Dr. Mihailovic himself was a Red Cross medic in the Balkans during World War II. Later, he graduated from medical school in Belgium.

He came to the U.S. in the 1950s and opened a general practice in Chicago. He also was on staff at several hospitals. He retired in 1990 and moved to South Haven. Dr.

Mihailovic, a self-described abstractionist, was an avid painter whose works were exhibited at local galleries. In 1985, he received the William H. Tuthill Award from the Art Institute of Chicago. His paintings hang in galleries and museums in the former Yugoslavia, South Africa, Italy, Australia, Canada and Mexico. Dr.

Mihailovic also was a violinist. He is survived by his wife, Vesna; two children, Alexandar and Anna; two stepchildren, Aleksandra and Slobodan; and three grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Mother of God Monastery, in Third Lake, Ill. Giraud Chester; created popular TV game shows NEW YORK TIMES NEWS SERVICE NEW YORK Giraud Chester, an author and television executive responsible for such shows as "The Price Is Right," "What's My Line?" and "Family Feud," has died.

His family said Mr. Chester died at age 73 of congestive heart disease last Saturday in his Manhattan home. Known as Jerry, Mr. Chester had worked in various positions in the TV industry, including that of vice president of programming at ABC and at NBC, since 1952. But it was at Mark Goodson Television Productions, an independent company he joined in 1964 and where he helped develop several long-running game shows, that Mr.

Chester's impact on television was perhaps greatest. Before his death, he had been negotiating the renewal of "The Price Is Right," the popular daytime show starring Bob Barker. In 1949, he began teaching broadcasting and speech at Queens College, and he wrote a widely used textbook on TV and radio, one of the first to focus on the media's role in society. He also ventured beyond his chief interest, writing a biography of an abolitionist, "Embattled Maiden the Life of Anna Dickinson." And after serving as a juror in a 1968 murder trial in Manhattan, he wrote about jury deliberation in "The Ninth Juror." Mr. Chester was born in Manhattan and graduated from Brooklyn College in 1942.

After serving as a Navy communications officer during World War II, he resumed his studies at the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a doctorate in speech.
