While New irork: and Baltimore registered gains in the field of foreign trade, Philadelphia dropped from 2,102,650 tons in May, to tons in June. New York figures rose 43,250 tons and Baltimore tons in the same period.

Loss of business here was attributed to a sharp drop in imports, which wiped out an increase in exports of 10,400 tons. Since June, however, it was pointed out that unofficial figures indicate business in the port experienced a steady increase.
