Rev. Bracken each year asked families to save money to help make a Christmas for the needy. The church provides food year-around. Also at Christmas, the church will distribute toys, clothing and more than 1,000 food baskets. The church, because of the need for permits and insurance, has discontinued an in-house shelter and free ambulance service.

Rev. Bracken "was a very meek and humble man and very much concerned about humanity," said Deacon Jerry Hawkins, who served at the church. Survivors include a daughter Jamie. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Henry Bracken Rev. Robert and By Kenan Heise Tjmbune Staff Writer Rev! Robert G. Boling, 64, and Jean Gade Boling, 62, were killed Monday in Jordan in a head-on crash with a truck. Boling, a McCormick Theological Seminary professor of the Old Testament, and his wife were in Jordan on a six-month sabbatical at the American Center for Oriental Research in Amman. The couple resided in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

They had traveled to the Middle East many times on behalf of biblical archeology since 1957. Rev. Boling directed excavations at Shechem, Caesarea Maritima, Tell El-Hesi and Tell El-Umeiri. Boling was the corresponding secretary and a spearhead of the Middle East Task Force of Chicago Presbytery. She received a bachelor's degree from the Chicago Teachers College in 1954 and a master's degree from Northeastern University in 1975. As a member of the Dru-McCormick Ar-cheological Expedition in 1957, she was one of the first two American women to serve on an American archeological expedition in the Middle East Rev. Boling, a 1952 graduate of Indiana State College, received his divinity degree from McCormick in 1956 and a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University in 1959. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister.
