TUCSON, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1974 SIX SECTION THE ARIZONA DAILY STAR State Investigating Developer Of Village South Of Sedona (Continued from Page IB) i I it I The Aspen Mining Foe Sues Conoco Over Job Loss A $1 25-million lawsuit has been filed against the Continental Oil Co. by a Tucson man who contends that the firm caused the Anaconda Copper Co. to fire him. John Dore, active in opposing mining in residential areas on the county's westside, filed the action in U.S. District Court against Conoco and one of its executives, Adolph Mit-terer.

Dore claims in the action that Mitterer in April, May or June of last year interfered with his employment at Anaconda, where he was a foreman, by calling Robert Lynn, Anaconda Manager at Twin Buttes, to complain about Dore's active involvement with a group called Stop Mini-nig 'Around Residential Tucson. In June of last year, after the alleged Mitterer call, Dore said, he was fired. He termed the action "abusive and malicious." Dore has also filed a suite against Anaconda in connection with the firing. TOU CAM DOT ming pools, skeet range, tennis cpurts, upland game club, bridle paths and a club house. Big Park mailed a letter in 1973 to its lot owners announcing that it is in the process of "bringing a major resort hotel to the Village of Oak Creek." The hotel was never built. An advertisement in a Phoenix newspaper offered condominiums for sale "located on the golf course at the Village of Oak Creek." The condominiums were never built. On March 29, 1973, Big Park, representing the Village of Oak Creek, obtained two promissory notes of $1,820,000 each from Builders Investment Group, a Florida business trust. One note was due to be paid one year later, the other four years later. Sources said the money was going to be-used to develop a trailer park near the Village of Oak Creek.

Real estate people here estimate that $1,200,000 has been spent on developing the park, mostly in constructing concrete slabs for potential trailer homes. "Fifty per cent of the slabs are located in the river bottom," said the Yavapai County sheriff's detective. "Half of the pads were washed away during a light rain. If there had been trailer homes on the pads, they would have been seriously damaged." thing on Big Park. As far as I know, nobody here is," he said.

A Yavapai County sheriff's detective said he is aware of the complaints about Big Park, but his office is not investigating the nature of the complaints because he thought the Attorney General's Office was handling it. "Frankly, I'm a little disappointed. I thought they were going to look into Big Park," the detective said. Asked if the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office was conducting an investigation into the company, Wattola replied, "If anything, they're waiting for us to do something." Wattola said he doesn't remember seeing many complaints about Big Park, but he added, "We had a little problem getting into the real estate department office when Mr. Talley was there, to look at complaints." Schuttler, a retired oil company executive who lives in the Village of Oak Creek, said "there isn't a promise made Big Park didn't break." Schuttler said the roads are badly paved, wells are caving in because they weren't cased correctly and residents have problems with television reception. Big Park in the past has circulated advertising brochures announcing lots for sale at the Village of Oak Creek.
