Damages Sought Ambulance Firm Employes Named A $200,000 lawsuit charges two ambulance company employes with beating two teenagers without justification.

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Superior Court on behalf of Shawn Dolan, 14, and Jon Guthrie 15, by their parents. Named in the suit along with the Ambulance Co. were Jerry Kenam and Kent Sebring. Parents of the two boys have told police they wish to file criminal complaints against Kenam and Sebring, according to a police report. The boys told police they were returning home from a fireworks display July 4, when they were assaulted by Kenam and Sebring, who accused the youths of throwing water-filled balloons at their ambulance.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred at E. Broadway and Kolb where the boys got off a city bus near their homes. The lawsuit asks for $50,000 in compensatory damages for each boy and $100,000 in punitive damages against the defendants. The suit alleges that the two boys have suffered pain, emotional stress, humiliation and injuries that may be permanent in nature. Ambulance and the two employes declined to comment on the lawsuit on the advice of their lawyers.

Libertarians Certified For State Ballots PHOENIX (AP) The Libertarian Party was certified yesterday, and its candidates will appear on Arizona's primary and general election ballots. Acting Secretary of State Pat Fabritz certified the party for the ballot after receiving 11,045 certified signatures on petitions from seven counties. Maricopa County Recorder Tom Freestone said his office certified 8,553 signatures. Helen Stevens, a party representative, said signatures in the other counties were Coconino, 288; Yavapai, 150; Gila, 26; Pinal, 63; Cochise, 43, and Pima, 1,932. Mrs.

Stevens said the party would have 11 candidates for national and state offices, and six presidential electors for inclusion on primary election ballots. Roger MacBride of Virginia is the party's nominee for president. David Bergland of California is the vice presidential candidate. Mrs. Stevens said the Libertarian Party has an estimated 500 registered voters, most of whom switched from Democratic and Republican parties.

Harris' Hawk Stolen From Phoenix Zoo; 2nd Theft In Year PHOENIX (AP) A birdnapper has struck at the Phoenix Zoo for the second time in less than a year, zoo officials said yesterday. An adult Harris' Hawk was taken Tuesday night by someone who cut through a wire enclosure, officials said. Last Nov. 25 a rare sulfurbreasted toucan, "Fruit Loop," was taken from the zoo, but was recovered five days later alive and well in a gunny sack in the Salt River bottom about a mile from the zoo. Carl Simmons, head animal keeper at the zoo, said the Harris' Hawk is a protected species.

A permit is required to own or keep the bird in captivity. The Harris' Hawk is common in the deserts and prairies of the southwestern United States, Mexico and Central America. It is chiefly dark brown with conspicuous white markings on its tail. Music Linked To Gaps Prof. Hermann Rauhe, an expert in the sociology of music, says, "Experiments have shown that certain musical structures such as 'primitive beat' and other excessively noisy, rhythmic music lead to the release of certain hormones" that can cause permanent gaps in a person's memory.
