Old time musicians state such enthusiasm has never before been manifested in the city. Both vocally and numerically it was the strongest aggregation ever called to gether here. Atid amply were the singers repaid In attending by the-enjoyment they derived from singing the tuneful music.

In marked contrast in its sentiment but equally thrilling was the ob- Hgato solo in the number, "Ofrl For the Wings of a Dove" in which Miss Irene Elder an appealing quality of voice that showed the rare judgment ot the cast committee in assigning her this important role. Although the chorus is already stronger than any previously heard in Alton the committee are anxious that all who can should derive "the benefit of the instruction In delsarte, stage deportment and vocal music without expense to the Individual singer will hold the roll book.open so that new members may join the chorus any night this o'clock.
