Chance for Grand Jury Work. The Telegraph believes that theri is one good way of getting at are profiteering on necessaries life. Every states attorney In State of Illinois should be put with sufficient funds at thel command to enable them to get evl deuce and Institute prosecution against all who are profiteering In thi of food, fuel and raiment. I jinakes not so much difference to us i automobile fuel Is high, If great tour 'Ing cars are being boosted in price, I cost of silks and satjua and fim perfumes are elevated to the skies to the people it does make a grea dlffe'rence whore thoro Is oollusloi among distributors to force up prices on necessaries of life. It Is probable that a blow could struck that, would jackdampsoy Olt High Cost O' Living If there was con corted action on the part of states at torneys all over the ntato.

Tho pro sentlng of evidence to the grand jur loa, the finding of true bills agalns those profiteers and the placing of th cases before Jurors of the victim have a mighty bad effect fa as the continued malignancy of hlg prices Is concerned. Wo would glv common people a chance to they feel ought to be done some laws could be fmin In Illinois that could he used as force to bring down prices. It ma be the province of the Governor to in itlate such proceedings. It may Within the hands of somo other publl officer, but tt would be a great rolte for the public to learn that thei jwould bu criminal prosecution, tha the big trusts and tho little trust and middle line trusts could not con tinue to boost prices as high as thoj iploase, and at tholr whim. It Is not altogether the big felfow who are doing tho boosting of prices 'It Is tho little fellows, too.

Everybody Is tuklng a hand in It. Somo of it i (justifiable, some Is partly Justifiable 'and some of It Is absolutely wlthon any excuse. The spirit of the day 1 'to charge big prices for service nnc goods. There must bo some limit It. There must bo some concerted ac ition and grand juries and public oin jclals must come to the relief of a Ion public.

It is tlmo to end the exploitation of the public. We are disastrous consequences resulting if something Is not done. The middle class people who huv iperhaps no unions to back them up 'and the poorer closs of people are In a tight hole.
