FUN GAMES SXtreme is disappointment Lt BOW" "VJBS becomes backward track, etc.) The problem with the fighting is that the designers have made kind of a big deal out of it when, really, the beginning of the race is the only chance you get to fight. Critic's call All in all, this is a pretty forgettable game. The graphics are rough, and the details are weak. The music is pretty good, but all the songs sound too much alike. Under the surface, the game is not what it appears to be at first sight.

So, with so many more cons than pros, I'd suggest you forget it and take your money elsewhere. Steven Bailey, a seventh-grader at Fountain of Life Lutheran School, is a member of Star Tech's team of software and video-game testers. Read his full Test Tube review online on StarNet at: Cool links Missed your local gallery's last exhibition? Researching a term paper on art? Want to keep in touch with the local art scene while you j. visit Mom in Minnesota? 2jc Elizabeth Curry of the same-named contemporary gallery at 437 E. Grant Road has an answer to these and many other questions.

And1 it's just a click of your computer mouse away. At www.cherry-art.com, she's displayed photographs, artist bios and other information on 11 exhibitions dating back to February 1997. Curry's site is well organized and easy to navigate. There's a "present exhibition," in which photographs of Steve Parrino's entire show are shown, and "past exhibitions." (The present exhibition is always one behind the one currently at the gallery.) There are also links to other art-related sites. In the present exhibition on Parrino, smaller photos can be enlarged to include a description of the work, its title and price.

One quibble: Some of the photos, particularly of works using darker colors, are hard to see. KenKeuffelJr. By Steven Bailey Special to The Arizona Daily Star If you were into extreme sports games and you caught a glimpse of something that said "Bikes, Boards and Blades," you'd probably think to yourself "Go for it!" and grab it off the shelf, right? I did, and imagine my surprise when I realized what a mistake I had made in choosing to try out 3Xtreme from 989 Studios. In 3Xtreme, you race several opponents on skateboards, rollerblades and BMX bikes or, if you prefer, you may race one-on-one against a friend. What's cool You can practice playing against the other racers in exhibition mode, you can practice pulling off tricks in freestyle mode (you can also play against a friend and try to get more trick points than he or she does), or you can start a new season and play through the three circuits in the game, which, upon completion, will unlock hidden tracks, players and equipment.

What's not The problem with the tracks is that the game claims there are 27 when there are really closer to 13. The reason for the difference is 14 tracks are only slightly modified versions of the original 13. (Day track becomes night track, forward track -i Clip 'n' Play 3Extreme for PlayStation Highlight "memory card" at the main menu and press right. You'll get a new code menu. Use any of these passwords there: For all alien characters, it's ASTROMEN.

For all exhibition tracks, it's VOYEUR. For all freestyle tracks, it's XXYTO. For some wild secret characters, enter DOMINIQUE, LUGNUT AND TP beat the game with one of those characters and you'll get access to a "haunted" freestyle track.
