Biehn Age 89 of Cokesbury Village, Hockessin, DE, formerly of Friends Meetinghouse Road and a resident of Hockessin for 64 years, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004. She was born in Yonkers, NY September 18, 1914 to Frederick J. and Anna R. (Dunham) Cutler.

Marion graduated from Roosevelt High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magnum cum laude, from Mount Holyoke College in 1935. She then attended Yale University Medical School. During her years at Mount Holyoke College, she was a student actress. One of her notable performances was as, Takes Rhoda A Holiday" Fenton by in Alberto "Death Casella. Mrs.

Biehn was a homemaker and occasional freelance writer. During different periods in her life, she was a member of the Youth Movement for World Recovery; the PTA. the Calico Club and the Lamborn Library. husband, Gordon F. Biehn, preceded her in death January 23, 1991.

She is survived by 4 sons, Robert A. Wilmington, Landenberg, DE, PA, William David P. L. of Spicewood, TX and Donald E. of Greenville, NC; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be open to friends at the Cokesbury Village Chapel on Monday, June 28, 2004, at 2 pm. All are welcome. The burial will be private in the Hockessin Friends Meetinghouse burial grounds. Cornwell Aug. 12, 1922-Jun. 23, 2004 Richard died peacefully at 81 years of age on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, while in the loving care of the staff at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. Richard was born in Northumberland, PA and spent his boyhood years in Fredericksburg, VA.

He was among the first group of Boy Scouts in Fredericksburg to obtain the rank of Eagle. He attended the Fifth International Boy Scout Jamboree in the Netherlands in 1937. During WWII, Richard served in the Army Air Corps as a lieutenant pilot for the B29 bombers. He was a graduate of Hampton Sydney College and School. a career as a Washington University patent attorney was spent in Washington, Dc and Wilmington, DE, where he was a partner in the law firm of Connolly, Bove Lodge.

He was a longtime member of the Church of the Ascension in Claymont, DE, where he became the first lay reader of the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware. Richard's retirement years were spent in North Fort Myers, FL, where he was a lay reader and chalice bearer at St. Hilary's Episcopal Church. He was an avid tennis and golf player, and enjoyed playing the violin and piano. He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia, in 1976.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 265 years, Jean; daughters, Carolyn Walsh and Marcia Ihnen; stepdaughters, Roberta Ness and Wendy Nichols; and 9 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Hilary's Church on Tuesday, June 29, at 11 am. Interment of ashes will be at the Church of the Ascension in Claymont, DE. Melvin Drake Mr. Melvin Drake, age 76 of New Castle, DE, went to be with his Lord, Ann, his wife of 37 years, Mike, his oldest son, and Wyatt, his grandson, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. Melvin loved 5 things in his life: his wife, children, grandchildren, God and his country.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947 and accompanied Admiral Byrd on his second expedition to Antarctica. For 47 years he was employed as a PBX repairman with local telephone companies. He was a lifelong of the Faith Presbyterian Church of America and was active in the Wilmington Trail Club for over 10 years. Melvin shared his great sense of humor, stories and jokes with everyone he met.

He will be remembered as a man who accepted everyone and treated them as his friends. He learned that from his Lord Jesus. He is survived by his children, Malorie Derby and her husband, Brian, Marc Harms and her husband, Richard; Marshall Drake and his wife, Sylvia, Morgan Drake and his wife, Susan, and Matthew Drake and his wife, Betty; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Mumford Age 79 of Selbyville, DE died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. Born in Selbyville to Frank C. and Lena Mumford, he was a master plumber and he and his brother owned and operated Mumford Bothers Plumbing and Heating Inc.

in Selbyville for over 45 years. During WWII, he was in the Navy from 1943-1946, in the 138th Seabee battalion. He served in AK and the Aleutian Islands, the site of the only military campaign of WWII fought on North American soil Ed was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville, the Mason Dixon VFW Post in Ocean View, and the Wissahickon Tribe of the Red Men in Selbyville. He was also a member of the NRA. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, James Mumford.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anna H. Mumford; son, John F. Mumford of Selbyville; daughters, Deborah M. Luber of Rockville, MD and Marianna M. Cummings of Selbyville; and 5 grandchildren, Grace Cummings, Marianna and Matthew Luber and Eli a and Hannah Mumford.

Attig, MD, age 74 of Newark, DE, passed away Wednesday morning, 23, 2004, home with his family.

Dr. Attig, was born in Naperville, July 23, 1929. He served our country in the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. A 1961 graduate of the University of Chicago Medical School, Dr. Attig came to DE 1967 and worked as an anesthesiologist at the Wilmington General Hospital.

Upon the closing of Wilmington General, Dr. Attig joined the staff of the Christiana Hospital in 1985, where he remained until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Medical Society of Delaware. Dr. Attig is survived by his sons, Stephen, Charles "Chip" and Andrew; his brother, Clarence; and his former wife, Kathleen Crowley.

A funeral service will be held at the CHARLES P. NERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Wilmington (opposite Cathedral Cemetery) on Saturday morning, June 26, at 10:30. Beissel Age 85 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 23, 2004. Mary was the daughter of the late George E.

and Rose Haley. She attended schools in Darby and Collingdale, PA. She retired in 1981 from Diamond State Telephone and after retirement, worked for Boscovs and most recently for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Rectory. Mary was an active member and past president of the Diamond State Pioneers Life Member Club. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and traveling.

She was predeceased by her husband, J. Fred Beissel; and her son, George E. Beissel. Mary is survived by her sons, Charles J. Beissel of Wilmington and John L.

Beissel of Phoenix, AZ: her daught Brenda Beissel of Felton, DE and Bonnie Beissel of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Todd Beissel, Shawn Beissel and Kathie Thun; and her great grandchildren, Evan Williams, Cody and Tyler Beissel and Katelyn Thun. Before his illness, he volunteered at the Medical Center of Delaware. Joseph was preceded in death by his first 2 wives, Dorothy Tomczuk Pichule and Mary J. Pichule.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Moudy Pichule; his children, Mary Jo Baynum and her husband, Henry, Joseph no. Pichule, Michele Pichule and Steven Baker, and his stepchildren, Susan C. Koperna and her husband, Mostephend and W. Howard his wife, Regina. His sister, Marie Tomaselli; his grandchildren, William and Robert Baynum, Bill Moudy, Becky and Erin Koperna also survive him.

He was a retired cost estimator for NVF. His wife, Gloria Kistler Wagner, passed away in 1999. Survivors include his daughters, Andrea Passarella and her husband, John, of Swedesboro, NJ and Kara and Jennifer Wagner, both of Wilmington; and 1 sister, Louise Kempka of Washington, NC. Survivors also include 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Luke and Emma Passarella. The service will be 11 am Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call after 10 am.

Friends may also call on the family from 2- 2:30 pm on Saturday at the Liebensperger Funeral Home in Hamburg, PA, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
