Brubaker sang "I Re member" and "The Foolish Ltttl Maiden," She was accompanied by Mrs. Albert Marth, who wa also narrator for the style show The devotlonals were given by Mrs. Nathan Cassella, and the minutes of the organization's first meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Michel was the first secretary of the Janet Watson Auxiliary.

Following the program tea was served In the parish house. The tea table was centered with a laige birthday cake, and the president, Mrs. Robert Howser and vlce-pres ident, Mrs. Ben Vine, poured. In the receiving line were the spon sors of the organization: Mrs.

Carroll, Mrs. Llnkogle and Mrs. Vote, Bard Himself in Puppet Shows William Shakespere will appear under the sponsorship of the Alton High English department at the school auditorium Friday, at 8 m. Shakespere will puppet and will introduce his own play, Taming of the one of two puppet plays to be presented by Martin and Olga Stevens. The other is "MacBeth." In this version of the Shrew, a repllcan of the Shakesperean stage will be used, and Shakespere himself has difficulty in getting enough flayers together and Is forced to round out the cast by playing sev- eral roles himself.

The treatment board, and' the' other players have little respect for the'Immortal Bard's lines or his person. In fact, between the arguments in the play arid the explosive temperments of the puppet the session threatens to a free-for-all at any moment. The Stevens, have staged this lay with boisterous light-heartedness, and it is presented primarily for adult audiences although children; may attend. The 'Stevens have appeared in Alton puppet shfwa twice before, presenting the Passion Play at Easter and the Navfty at Christmas. Alton Secretaries Meet Alton chapter of National Secretaries Association met Wednesday night at the Young Women's Christian Association for 'their regular monthly meeting. DeAtley told members of the Lincoln Parent- Teacher Association Tuesday night nf the advantages of the Girl Scout work In the Alton area and encouraged the scout camping for the summer. Mrs. executive director of the iirl Scouts, made an appeal for cadershlp and cooperation in the program for the young girls of the community.
