Birmingham detectives, through Scotland Yard, asked the help of Interpol, which has headquarters in Paris. They want to find out whether there is any record of similar killings on the continent. Sixteen senior detectives from various parts of England will be drafted into the murder hunt Monday to reinforce- the Birmingham Sleuths. Police continued exhaustive house-to-house inquiries, searching for a clue to the whereabouts of the blood spattered young man in a raincoat seen, going aboard a bus after leaving the hostel.

The East Germans renamed the liner Voelkerfreundschaft (friendship between peoples), and plan to use it for cruises in the Mediterannean and the Black Sea. The Stockholm was the Swedish liner involved in the collision with the Italian liner Andrea Doria off the U.S. East Coast July 26, 1956.
