Keith Dinsmore Planning for Union Publication Starting June 2nd Issue by Keith Dinsmore As Gladys Harsh was introducing me to some new friends in iMora'via Monday afternoon, one lady looked at me with a grin and said, "So you're the one who's going to take Ray and Kate's place." "No ma'am," I answered, "we're- just going to try to keep the Union going." No one is going to be able to take the place of the Dhoritys, who have published your hometown newspaper for the past 28 yea;" Our aim is merely to see that Moravia does not join the growing list of small towns without a newspaper. That isn't always easy these days, with rising production costs, shopper competition for the advertising, "and fewer business houses in some small towns. But it can be done and we believe that Moravia's future is worth investing in. Although I was born and raised in Fremont and now make my home there, I do have some roots in Appanoose County. My late great- great-grandfather was Henry Clay pioneer preacher, lawyer and orator who was chaplain of the U.S.

Senate over a century ago. The town of Dean was named for him. But there are a lot of people I haven't -met yet in the Moravia community and I look forward to correcting that over the next few weeks. The Union office will remain at its same familiar location although it may seem more confusing than usual the next few weeks. We'll be constructing layout cabinets Mr.

When I came back to Iowa from Missouri four, years ago, it wms 'or the purpose of helping to main- air a few hometown newspapers sharing expensive, typesetting equipment and other production unctions. I know that Ray and Kate's primary concern has been to see that VIoravia has a newspaper for many to come and we will do bur to see that this wish is ful- illed. A town without a newspaper ealry- misses it and we will hope earn your confidence in the weeks ahead. We believe that Moravia deserves to have a good newspaper as in the past and will to provide it. We're glad that the Dhoritys will be around with the job print- ng business to keep us straight.
