NEWS JOURNAL WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2003 OBITUARIES George "Ruie" Washington Cooper, Sr. Age 87 of Wilmington, DE left this life peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at Wilmington Hospital. George was the son of the late James Rosa Cooper; and husband of the late, Mary Cooper. He leaves to cherish many blessed memories his sons, Willie Ford, Bobby Cooper, Willie Gasket, George Cooper, Eddie Cooper, James Cooper and Frank Cooper; his daughters, Mary Cooper, Aminah Al Haqq, Ruby Turner, Louise Evans and Christine Cooper; 1 sister, Anna Waterman; and 2 brothers, Theodus and Willie Cooper. He was also the "Pop-Pop" to 35 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 1 9 great-great grandchild.

Maribeth M. Custodio, age 58 of Newark, DE died on Monday, December 8, 2003, at Christiana Hospital in Newark. Mrs. Custodio was born in Brooklyn, NY October 27, 1945. For the past year, she worked as a bankruptcy clerk for J.P.

Morgan Chase Company at the White Clay Center in Newark. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting and reading. Dobrzynski "Doby" Age 81, of Woodcrest, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2003. Joe worked at ICI Atlas Point for 31 years before retiring in 1984. He was a Navy veteran serving in both WWII and the Korean War. Joe was a member of St. Matthew's Church.

He was active in the DAP Pushmobile Derby helping both his children and other neighborhood children build cars. He was an originator of the ICI Atlas Point Screen Door Open golf tournament. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making jewelry boxes. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Etzel T. Dobrzynski; children, Joseph D.

James J. Brady, Ill Age 74 of Claymont, DE passed away, December 6, at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He was born in Chester, PA, the son of the late James J. Brady, and Celia McHale Brady and had lived in Claymont, DE for 62 years. Mr.

Brady was employed at Sun Oil Co. in Marcus Hook in building maintenance for 45 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lillian M. Ruebeck Brady; 2 daughters, Maureen Brady Curry and Paulette (Thomas) Baker, both of DE; 4 brothers, John Gerard David D. Brady, all of Claymont, DE and Joseph J.

Brady of Millsboro, DE; 1 sister, Mary Ann Kennedy of DE; 7 grandchildren, Thomas, Il, JilT Matthew Baker, Jennifer and James V. Thomas L. Campbell, son late Thomas J. Campbell and the late Minnie L. Campbell, was born on February 19, 1932 in Wilmington, DE. He graduated from Howard High School, and served our nation during the Korean War.

He worked for the Dupont Company for 39 years. Thomas was a member of Ezion Fair Baptist Church. Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lois J. Campbell; and his children Anita B. Campbell, 'Aaron L.

Campbell, Colleen Campbell-Brown, Thomas A. Campbell, Shekela Campbell; and a devoted friend Sheila Younger; and a host of grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. He also worked for the Bayard Estate for 13 years, retiring in 2003. His wife, Lillian Cannon, predeceased him in 1991. "Connie" Cappelle, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2003. Easton, retired from Mrs. was born in Cappelle, the DuPont General Services Department in 1967 after 17 years of service and later worked as a receptionist at Casa Cappelle, her son's beauty salon in Wilmington. She was a member of Sellers Senior Center. She enjoyed her flower garden, Sellers Senior Center, dancing, trips to the Poconos and Catskills, and long walks with her dog, Shelley.

Mrs. Cappelle was predeceased by her husband, Michael in 1978; son, Samuel in 1989; and sister, Sadie Amato 1977. is survived by her daughter, Rita; and brothers, Christopher Amato and Anthony Amato of Easton, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th DuPont Sts, Wilmington at 11:30 am on Thursday December 11.

Marcelo S. Castillo of Hockessin, DE went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, De7, 2003 at the age of 89. coconer Castillo graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with the class of 1938, and returned home to the Philippines to serve with the Philippine and U.S. armed forces during World War Il. He continued in the military service after the war, and retired in 1973.

He was a professor at the De La Salle University Business School and the Jose Rizal College in Manila after retirement from the military. He obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1991 by virtue of his military service during WWII with the USAFFE. He is survived by his daughters Coralyn de Tagle of Hockessin, Marilyn Salapare of Tampa, FL and Jacquelyn Schilling of Chesterfield, VA; in-laws Evelyn V. Castillo, Lito de Tagle, Salapare and Stephen Schilling; nephews, nieces and grandchildren Dale Daradal, Scott Price, Cathleen Price, Joseph Luis de Tagle and Charlene Castillo.

YASIK FUNERAL HOME Eleanor L. LaPenta Age 74 of Newark, DE died December 9, 2003. George, son of the late Charles and Ellen Lee, was born February 3, 1921 in Lewisburg, WV. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted friend of 20 years, Townsend; 6 children, Cassandra, Raye, Gwen, Theressa Lee and Marsha Lee Washington; his former spouse of 32 years, Mary E.

Lee; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen and Rosie Lee; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends. George served in the U. S. Navy and was employed with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Elsmere as a Chief Baker for 35 years, retiring in 1981. George was preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Johnnie, Ray, Walter, Joe and Charles Lee.

Rev. Robert L. McKinney Rev. Robert L. McKinney of Wilmington, DE passed peacefully to his great reward on December 6, 2003, surrounded by loved ones.

Prior to entering the ministry, Rev. McKinney served his country, for 6 years in the States Navy. Rev. McKinney. pastored several churches in OH, MD and VA.

He spent the majority of his ministry in DE. He pastored the Wilmington Church of God for 20 years and the Milford Church of God for just over 4 years. He served his denomination, regionally in numerous capacities worked over 50 youth camps. His commitment to helping youth was one of his greatest passions. Rev.

McKinney also served his community by spending many years as a voluntary probation officer for the Family Court, State Delaware. He is survived by his of 52 years, Pauline of Wilmington; children and Sheila of Wilmington, Sharon and Dan McCready of Cleveland, TN. He is also survived by 4, grandchildren, Jake and his wife and son, Andrea and Payton, Jamie, Jordan and Jenna-Rae McCready, all of Cleveland, TN; mother, Atlas and sister, Wanda Cable, both of Morangton, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester McKinney; 2 brothers, Dean McKinney and Sam McKinney; and grandson, Thomas R. Johnson, M.D.

Bert J. Mohler Age 64 of Wilmington, DE passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Fox Subacute at Clara Burke in Plymouth Meeting, PA after a long illness. Mr. Mohler was a supervisor for Anchor Glass Container in Salem, NJ for 16 years before his retirement in 1999. He was a Navy veteran, a member of Holy Rosary Church, and an avid fisherman.

He will be missed by his wife, Rosemarie (Krapil) Mohler; his daughter, Bonnie Bradley of Streator, IL; 2 sons, Michael of Boothwyn, PA, Jason of Alexandria, VA; and 3 grandchildren, Thomas, Taylor and Elizabeth. William O. Murray "Bill" Age 65 of Ocean View, DE at home Saturday, December 6, 2003. He was a retired land developer and captain of the "Small Wonder" sailing cruise boat out of Indian River. He was a past trustee and member of the Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, Doric Masonic Lodge in Millville, and a member of the Lord Baltimore Lions Club. He was one of the founders and past president of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, a member of the board of directors of Baltimore Trust Company and served on the board and was instrumental in restoring the Coast Guard Life Saving Station at Indian River.

He also loved politics. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janette Dashiell Murray; 2 daughters, Denise Adkins and her husband, Mark, of Dagsboro, Diana Wech and her husband, John, of Knoxville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa and Schyler, Adkins, and Nicholas Nathan Wech. There will be a Masonic service, Lions service and a funeral service on Saturday, December 13th, beginning at 1 pm at the Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, where family and friends may call after 11 am. of Delaware City, DE, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Shipley Manor in Wilmington. Blackbird, DE on May 5, 1910, Mrs. Nickle was the daughter of the late Alfred Henderson and Edith Taylor Henderson. She was a graduate of Beacom College and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Delaware City. She is survived by her children, Margaret F.

Kirk and her husband, John F. Jr. of Bethany Beach, DE and Louis C. Nickle, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Elkton, MD; a brother, Reginald Henderson of Blackbird, DE; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Nickle, in 1989; and by a grandson, Kenneth Michael Nickle. A funeral service will be held at 11:45 am, Friday, December 12, 2003, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, Minquadale, New Castle, where friends may call after 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
