The company's mine is located Hutchinson and Wichita have taken possession or the old deserted log cabins, converted them into summer nomes, ana eacn summer a ouncn oi 45 or 50 Kansas folks spent a pleasant vacation mis aoanaonea mming camy. Among the Hutchinson folks who have ca Cjt Ed and Charles Weddle. Mr.

Moore is tne aristocrat oi xne camp, as nis cai in Is the only one in the camp having wall paper and real plaster on the walls. Mr. ajid Mrs. Moore returned from a visit in the camp last night. "Spar City was at one time a typical Colorado mining camp," said Mr.

Moore. "The log cabins are still there, including the dance hall, the saloons, the gambling halls, and all. But there is no church. Spar City never knew what a church was." The log cabin next to that owned by Mr. Moore was formerly a saloon and gambling hall.

In it still stands the bar over which Bob Ford was killed at Creede, Col. The bar was later moved to Spar City. It bears the marks of bullet holes as evidence of its strenuous history. Spar City had a newspaper at one time. The editor of the Spar City Spark was one of the last to desert the town when it died.

It Is said that after the miners had all moved away, after the saloons had shut up; the dance halls and gambling houses had closed, and all had packed up aod left, the editor of the Spark continued to Ohio, has arrived and will take the about three miles further up the moun-position of head sales lady In the tain and the miners live near the shaft, millinery department at the Rora- The stockholders of the company In copy of tlU old 'paper, Posted on the wall of one of the fab-Ins stilt hangs a notice 'Signed by Henry Bryant, formerly constable- of tne town. Of all the auxllllary attractions at any of the several world's fairs, the first place In importance has alwavs been accorded to the Carl Hagenbeck Trained Animal Shows.

It Is estimated that more than 2,000,000 people visited this show during the fairs at Chi cago and at St. Louis, and these people have never forgotten the unusual and most remarkable acts performed by 'brute actors, and are constantly urging their friends to see the Hagenbeck trained animals at their first opportunity. Not ever one could go to the great World's Fairs, but since the Hagen beck animal show has combined with the Great Wallace Shows the tour has been such that hundreds of thousands of people who were unable to go to the fairs have been able to see the educated wild beastB perform. This season the combined Hagenbeck-Wal lace shows will visit two-thirds of the states of this country, and large crowds of people who have waited many years for this chance will have an opportunity to see the most famous animal tamers and trainers and the best educated animals in the world's history. The nature of some amusements makes It Impossible to tell whether or not there has been a combination when it is advertised that two shows have combined, but In the instance of the combination of the Carl Hag-enbeck-Wallace Shows It is an easy matter to verify the truth of the for every one knows of the heretofore unexcelled performances of the three-ring Wallace Shows and also the famous animal acts given by the Hagenbeck people In an Iron ring.

Since the shows have been combined, the performances of each is given complete and without interfering with the other, and the patrons can readily see that in this advertised combination the facts warrant the claim. The Carl Hagenteck-Wallace Combined Shows will appear in Hutchinson for two performances on Monday, August 26. If out-of-town friends want to see the most magnificent street parade and the greatest show on earth, the low excursion rates accorded to the Haeenbeck-Wallace aggregation will give them a cheap and convenient chance to do so. COLORED FOLKS GOOD PATRONS. The Eastern Star Convention Waa Good for Street Railway.

"It may surprise you, but the street railway company gets more benefit from the average convention of colored people than from a white remarked one of the officials of Hutchinson Interurban Railway company, today. "Hutchinson has been entertaining the colored lodge convention the past week and our receipts have been larger than they were during either the Elks or the TT. C. T. convention.

The only way I can explain it Is that the colored people spent more time riding around on the street cars to see the city." Speculation is rife as to whether an angel germ develops its own harn and crown. But it Is conceded that definite scientific re sults along this line are not to be expected Immediately.
