APRIL 27, 1970 ALTON EVENING TELEGRAPH PAGE A-9 Polly's pointers By Polly Cramer DEAR POLLY Gayle's letter about keeping her 10-monthold baby covered at night brought back many precious memories. My seven "babies" are now baby sitters. The commercial blanket-type, zip-in sleepers are quite satisfactory if a child sleeps in a cool room but bought ones seemed too warm for mine, so 1 made my own out of receiving blankets. Use a large-sized sleeper for a pattern, lay it on a double thickness of the blankets, cut out (being sure to allow for seams), then stitch. When the children were older, I removed the bottom seam.

Receiving blankets wash easily a and have many uses. Sew four together to make nice lightweight blankets for small children MRS. H. G. H.

DEAR POLLY 1-am a grandmother who helps care for small grandchildren. I would like to tell Gayle that instead of having to jump up and down all night to see if baby is covered, I had my daughter buy blanket-type sleepers. To "dress" them for nighttime, we put on a sweat shirt, two diapers and a pair of wool bootees, then put baby in the sleeper bag. Forget the child for the night and do not have to use blankets. Ours have never had a cold.

EMMA Polly's Problem DEAR POLLY What can I do to cover my very small window in my front door? I am alone many evenings and do not like the feeling of knowing that anyone can look into the house. MRS. DEAR POLLY Recently I was given an electric clock that I did not have a place for at least I did not think so at first. I finally put it over the basin and medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

Many people comment on it and even laugh so I am beginning to wonder if people fail to realize how convenient a clock in the bathroom can be. No more reminding my husband of the time as he gets ready for work and when I get into the tub I know just how long I can enjoy my "soak." -MRS. R.B.
