Garton Age 83, residing at the ManorCare Assisted Living Center in Wilmington, DE, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002. Mrs. Garton was a member of St. Elizabeth parish and St. Anthony parish in Wilmington.

(Adams) Eaton. She had been a waitress for over 30 years at area restaurants including Ibach's Steakhouse in Wilmington. Mrs. Harris enjoyed reading, walking, listening to country music, travelling, and playing cards with friends. Her husband, Curtis P.

Marian born in NJ, the daughter late Raymond was, and Faye Groff of Boyertown, PA. Her father was the owner of his own plumbing supply company.

She grew up in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Beaver College with a Bachelor Arts degree and also graduated from the Moore College of Art with a specialty degree in textiles and design. She was very talented in designing prints and designs, as well as in many forms of painting. She owned her own fabric design business in the 1940s. Marian and her late husband, William J. Clopp, moved to Wilmington, DE in 1953, the when DuPont he was transferred to the Company Stine Lab location.

Marian previously active in church, community and Masonic activities. Mr. Clopp died in 1984. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond M. Groff of Boyertown, PA.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Michael Mcintyre of Lewes, DE; and her granddaughter, Tara Godek of Newark, DE. Services will be private. William T. Gallaher, MD A native of TN and longtime Wilmington, DE resident died Monday, September 2002. Born July 23, 1917 in La Follette, TN, Doctor Gallaher graduated from the University Tennessee and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1942.

Upon graduation, Dr. Gallaher entered the U.S. Army Medical Corps and became a captain. He served with distinction earning the Bronze Star for bravery and the Purple Heart. Dr.

Gallaher landed on Beach on D-Day and participated in the 50th D-Day Anniversary in France in 1992. After the war, Dr. Gallaher completed his medical residency at the New York University Hospital, the Margaret Hague Hospital in NJ and the Bridgeport Hospital CT. He came to Wilmington in the early 1950s as an and obtained his board certification. He was an active member of the Medical Society of Delaware, the American College of and the International College of Surgeons.

Bill kept close ties to his family in TN and was a director the People's National Bank of La Follette, a bank founded by his father. He retired from active medical practice in 1990 and traveled much of the world. Bill and his wife, Irene divided their time together between Bethany Beach, DE and Green Valley, AZ. While in AZ, Dr. Gallaher joined the Elks Club.

Joseph Robinette Biden, age 86 died Monday, September 2, 2002 at the suburban Wilmington home of his oldest son, United States Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Biden was born November 13, 1915. in Baltimore, MD, the son of the H. Biden and the former Mary Elizabeth Robinette.

While he was still a boy, his family moved to Wilmington where he attended St. Paul's School and Wilmington High School before graduating from St. Thomas Academy in Scranton, PA, where the family was then residing. In 1941, Mr. Biden, while employed as a sales representative for Amoco Oil Harrisburg, PA, married Jean Finnegan of Scranton, PA.

During World War 11, Mr. Biden was an executive, in Boston, MA, of the war industry that supplied "plastic a special waterproof sealant applied to all U.S. merchant-marine ships built during the war. Folof an airport and lowing the war, he was co owner service on Long Island, NY. In 1953, he moved with his family to the Wilmington suburb of Mayfield in Claymont, DE and returned to sales as manager for several Wilmington automobile agencies.

He then spent 15 years working in real estate dominium sales in New Castle County and in Rehoboth Beach for the Patterson-Schwartz agency. Throughout his life and during his retirement, Mr. Biden shared with his wife, his 3 sons and daughter, his 10 grandchildren and his 3 great grandchildren a strong orientation to family life and personal integrity. He valued his reputation as an honorable man and as a family man, and with his wife he conveyed his values consistently to his children and their children. Both in the business world, was homeyad his bond and he was proud of that.
