He was born in Lewes, DE, on December 21, 1925, son of the late Elmer O. Mitchell and Elizabeth (Blizzard) Mitchell. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Bailey) Mitchell, of Lewes, DE; three daughters: Linda Larrimore and her husband Joseph of Lewes, DE, Gail Merz and her husband Gary of Lewes, DE and Laurie Houston of The Colony, TX; and one sister Doris Lehman of Milton, DE. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, at 11 am, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Second Market Streets, Lewes, DE.

Mutter Mrs. Mary E. Mutter, age 82, of Bear, DE, and formerly of Bristol, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at her residence. Born on September 14, 1928, in Bristol, VA, Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Venable and Mamie C.

Hudson Venable. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Buel A. Mutter, who died in 2003. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Romanek and his wife owned and operated Lena's Steak and Sub Shop in Elkton for more than 30 years. He was a member of American Legion Cecil Post 15, Elkton, for 44 years.

An avid carver, he loved to read and paint. He also enjoyed playing poker. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 41 years, Melba I. Romanek; sons, Matthew Romanek and wife, Sher-yl, Federal Way, WA, and James Sexton and wife, Cindy, Bear, DE; granddaughters, Megan Racey and Ashley Racey; greatgrandchildren, Brenden Lake and Jolene Racey; siblings, Jim Romanek and wife, Fran, Joyce Romanek, Joan Hall and Jean Bromell and husband, John, all of Elkton, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, she will be missed by members of her garden, craft, painting, bridge and book reading groups. Mary Ann's neighbors will also miss viewing her beautiful garden which she cared for with passion and love. Terence "Terry" Gerard Johnson Age 52, of Wilmington, DE, entered into the glorious presence of the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2011, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with brain cancer. Born to the late George and Jeanne Loughery Johnson in Wilmington, DE, he resided in N. Wilmington for the past 11 years, previously residing in City of Wilmington. Terry graduated from Salesianum School in 1977.

He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps the same year, as a non-commissioned officer, where he was awarded the "Good Conduct Medal" and the "Rifle Expert and was honorably discharged in 1980 as an E-5. He always loved spending time with his brothers and sisters at the Wilmington Fire Department, where he served as a firefighter for the past 32 years. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Anyone who knew him knew he had a deep love for the Lord, his brothers, sisters and faithful friends from E-Bible Fellowship. It was the Word of God and the love of his family that strengthened him daily.

He was a member of the International Assn. of Firefighters (IAFF), Local 1590 Firefighters Union. Terry was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jeanne and Geraldine Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Allison J. Marra Johnson; 7 children, Ales-sandra of New York City, Alex, Gabrielle, Courtney, Anthony, Danny and Dominic Johnson all at home; 5 sisters, Gael Deldeo, Mary Johnson, Patricia Clarke, Margaret Johnson and Rebecca McCutcheon, also numerous nieces and nephews.

His beloved wife of 52 years, Martha Pugh Harrington, predeceased him. Four children and ten grandchildren survive him. Affectionately called "Pop" and known for his wit and keen intellect by both family and friends, he will be sorely missed. Mr. Harrington attended Tower Hill School and graduated from the Law-renceville School.

A graduate of Princeton University, class of '39, he earned his masters degree from MIT. A chemical engineer by training, Mr. Harrington devoted thirty-seven years to the DuPont Company, retiring in 1975. Mr. Harrington was a past president of the Wilmington Club, served as trustee of the Marmot Foundation and contributed in many ways to his community over the years.

He was also a trustee of Christiana Care Health Systems. An avid fisherman and birder, George traveled extensively and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Fishers Island, NY. George leaves his son Teddy, daughter-in-law Ashley and their children Jake, Natalie, and Elsie, all of Bedford, NY; his daughter Ellen Campbell, son-in-law Jeff and their children Caroline and Grace, all of Concord, MA; his son Keith, daughter-in-law Nancy and their children Evan and Becky, all of Oakton, VA; his son David, daughter-in-law Erin and their children Andrew, Lindsay and Ian, allofChaddsFord.PA. She was 96. Mrs. Woodrow was born on July 20, 1914 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Clarence and Rose (Rober-son) Deakyne. She was a 1936 graduate of the University of Delaware. Her 27 year career started with a teaching position at Newark High School, Bancroft Junior High School, Frederica Elementary School, and lastly as a home economics teacher with Caesar Rodney High School from where she retired in 1973.

Mrs. Wood-row was a member of the Delaware Retired Teachers Association and the Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederica. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Woodrow in 1980; a brother, Clarence Deakyne Jr. and a sister, Olga Alexander.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Mary and Jerry Rutt of Newark and Carol and William Stevenson of Mil-ford; six grandchildren: Julie Rutt, Richard Stevenson, Thomas Rutt and his wife Carrie, Matthew Stevenson and his wife Sonya, Mark Rutt and his wife Valerie, and Heather Stevenson; and eight great-grandchildren: Amanda, Sarah, Alie, Taylor, T.J., Sarah, Shane, and Madeleine. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 9 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Frederica. Burial will follow the service. Age 90, of Wilmington, DE passed away on June 3, 2011. He was born in Prince George, County, VA to the late Andrew and Mary Lip-takPetik. George graduated from Disputanta High School, Prince George, VA, and worked for the DuPont Company in Richmond, VA in Fibers until being transferred to Wilmington, DE. He retired from the DuPont Company Chestnut Run as a textile research analyst in the Fibers Department. He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where he was on the property board.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff of Manor Care Pike Creek for the wonderful care they gave George during his stay there. George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Moran Petik; his son, George A. Petik Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and 6 grandchildren, Shelby, Kay-lee, Michael, Shailey, Jeffrey, and Timothy.
