St. after 9-month probe The Associated Press The NCAA informed Florida State University officials yesterday that no violations were found during a nine-month investigation of the school's football and basketball programs.

"We work extremely hard at Florida State to do the things that are proper and right," athletic director Hootie Ingrain said. "We certainly appreciate the effort by somebody to come in and find out if we were doing something wrong. In a letter to university president Bernie Sliger, NCAA assistant executive director David Berst said there was insufficient information available to expect its committee of infractions to find any violations in the Seminoles' program. The NCAA informed school officials last Jan. 26 it, was reviewing Florida State's athletic program but didn't specify which sports and what possible infractions were being investigated.

The man who allegedly attacked Kansas State University President Jon YVefald in his office Monday is a former football player at the school and the same man who crashed a car into the White House gates in 1981, authorities said.
