A native Delawarean and talented homemaker, Grace was active in her community as a member of the Clayton Century Club, the Lillian Smith Senior Center in Clayton, the Smyrna Opera House and the Hat Society. She also greatly enjoyed bowling for years.

She is survived by her son, Gregory and his wife, Carol; her son, Christopher and his companion, Carolyn; 3 grandchildren; and great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held privately. Keith, 81, of Newark, DE, passed away January 11, 2008 at Union Hospital. A lifelong resident of Newark, he was born on July 28, 1926, the son of Keith. For over 50 years, Charles and Helen "Haynes ton worked in the trucking industry, retiring from the Guardian Co. in 1993. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Hiram in Newark and a 40 year member of the Newark Chapter Order of the Eastern Star where he was Worthy Patron of the Chapter for 21 times.

He was Past Grand Patron of the Delaware Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star from 1981-82 and acting Patron of Robert Fulton Chapter in Quarryville, PA. From 2000-2003 he was a Committee Member of the General Grand Chapter and the Scottish Rite Charities Committee. He was also a life member of VFW Post 475 and a member of National Camping Travelers. A devoted family man, he enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors and was always accompanied by 1 or 2 of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 56.

He served as mathematics teacher and Director of Athletics at Salesianum (1953- 1966); Principal of Father Judge High School, Philadelphia (1966-1967); VicePrincipal of Salesianum (1967- 1969); Principal of Salesianum (1969-1977); President Salesianum (1977-1997); and Moderator of the Salesianum Alumni (1997-2001). Father retired in 2001 and moved to the DeSales Centre, Childs in 2005 when he was diagnosed with lymphoma. He, coached for 34 Salesianum's baseball team years.

During his tenure, Salesianum never had a losing record during a regular season. In 1982, was named Delaware's Scholastic Baseball Coach of the year. He was also elected to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame (1999) and the Salesianum School Hall of Fame (2004). No one in Delaware has served longer as a head baseball coach at the same school than Father Kenney. After 34 years and 579 games, he retired from coaching in 1992.

Father is survived by his sister, Sara Miller and husband, Robert, Wilmington, DE; sister-in-law, Mary Kenney, Florida (wife of Father's late brother, William); and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and brother, he was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Murphy and her husband, Lionel. Anna (Valentine) Latourney Age 87, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2008, at the Franciscan Healthcare Center. in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Mrs. Latourney was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kost) Valentine. She was employed by the Red Clay School District and worked in the cafeteria at Conrad High School and Baltz Elementary until her retirement. Before her illness she was an active member of the Richardson Park United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 20 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Latourney, Sr. in 1996; by her daughter, Ann Marie Latourney; her grandsons, William J. Latourney, III and Staff Sgt. Paul M.

Latourney; and her sister, Helen Capille, Mrs. Latourney will be by law, her Barbara daughter and and Gary son Mack in: of Landenberg, PA; her sons and daughters-in-law, William J. Jr. and Betty of Hebron, MD and Paul D. and Teresa of San Antonio, TX; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sisters, Ethel Valentine of Ocean City, NJ, and Margaret Reed of Cape Cod, MA. He was an avid square dancer for over 35 years, as well as a caller. He was a longtime member of Happy Squares and Single Steppers and Dorchester Swingers and performed square dance exhibitions for many local senior centers and nursing homes. Les was also a member of the Portsville United Methodist Church. He loved being with family, and friends, helping others, strumming the guitar, being outdoors and most of all, fishing. Charles L. Pitts, age 89, of New Castle, DE, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at his home surrounded by his beloved family. Mr. Pitts was born in Wilmington, DE on Independence Day 1918, son of the late Luigi Pizza and Filomena Fontella Pizza, and proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. A professional firefighter with the Wilmington Fire Department for 20 years until 1962, he later accepted a position in transportation with Hercules in Wilmington where he retired in 1980 after 15 years.

Mr. Pitts was a devout Catholic and a longtime, active member Holy Spirit Parish New Castle. He was a member of the Howard Weston Senior Center and of the Delaware City Recreation Club, where he enjoyed dancing with his wife for many years. He was also a talented organist. The last surviving child of the Luigi and Filomena, he was preceded in death by 21 siblings.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Alice Hall Pitts, in 2007, and by 4 grandsons, Billy and Jimmy Justin Carlson and Francis Pitts. He is survived by Watts 6 daughters, Mariaelena and husband, Lee, Constance McElwee husband, Barry, JoAnn loannoni, and Virginia McPherson and husband, Troy, all of New Castle, DE; Debra Miller of Dover, DE; and Judith Dale and husband, Gil, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; 16 grandchildren; grandchildren; and 5 29 great grandchildren. Rasmussen Age 69, Hockessin, DE, formerly of New Rochelle, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Born in New Rochelle, Mr. Rasmussen was the son of the late Harry Josephine (Buderman) Rasmussen. He worked as a mail carrier for U.S. Postal Service for 23 years until his as retirement in 2001.

He was veteran of the US Army and served in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Harry. Mr. Rasmussen will be missed by his wife of 33 Annette (Avallone) Rasmussen; his sisters, Patricia Sauro, Carol Belton, and Linda Bouchard; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Vernon Sacher J. Vernon Sacher, age 98, died January 11, 2008 at Sterling Healthcare Rehab in Media. Vernon was born, raised and educated in Wheeling WV. He graduated from Wheeling High School in 1926 and from West Virginia University in 1930 with a BS degree in Chemical En- gineering. While West Virginia University he longed Tau Beta Fraternity and Lamda Upsilon Fraternity.

Mr. Sacher was a longtime resident of Twin Oaks living there from 1947 until 1990. He also resided in Boothwyn and most recently in Glen Mills, Thornbury, Twp. Mr. Sacher was employed by Allied Chemical Co.

Stercula, and Julianne Martinenza; 3 sons, Joseph Theodore John Vernon, and Thomas "Tim" Howard; 20 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. He graduated from Milton High School in his became a vocation a at beto Pi Phi al agriculture teacher at Georgetown High School from 1942-1944 and Caesar Rodney High School from 1944-1983. He was the sponsor of the local FFA chapter which over the years received numerous National, state and local awards in judging contests, public speaking, parliamentary procedure, and degree awards as well as exhibits at the Delaware State Fair. He was a member of the Delaware Vocational Agriculture Teacher's serving as President 3 years, secretary 2 years, and for 10 years on the Advisory Committee to the State FFA chapter. In 1977, Mr. Short was a state finalist for DE Teacher of the Year, and in 1983 received one of six National awards as the National Vocational Ag.

Teacher Outstanding Teacher in Vocational Agriculture. He also received the Honorary American Farmer Degree National FFA, and from the of DE's School of Agriculture, the George M. Warlow award for prestigious ag ricult ure alumni. He was a member of the American Vocational Association, Delaware Vocational Association, Delaware State Education Association where he served several terms on the Legislative Committee, and the DSEA's Retired Teacher's Assoc. The Legislative Committees helped prepare educational legislation that was introduced into the General Assemble.

Mr. Short organized evening classes for Farmers under the Rural War Production Training Program during WW II. After the war, he organized and directed a program for Institutional on the farm training under the Veterans Administration from 1946 1953. He was a member of the Fruitland Grange serving as Master for 2 years. Mr.

Short was appointed by all the Delaware Governors from Pete rson through Minner to serve on the Delaware Advisory Council on Career and Vocational Education where he served as chairman of the Legislative Committee and on a Task Force for Vocational Youth Organizations. His accomplishments as a civic leader include 21 years on Wyoming Town Council secretary for 17 years, vice mayor for 3 years and mayor for 1 year; the Sewer Water Autown thority sewer which secured in the 1960's; the system, Camden-Wyoming Police Commission, and the initial Wyoming Park Commission that purchased Wyoming Park. He was also instrumental in obtaining sidewalks and home mail delivery in the 1960's for the towns people. In 2005, he was awarded a Jefferson Award. Mr.

Short also served on the Board of Elders for the Bible Fellowship Church for 18 years. He held the office of secretary while serving. Mr. Short was preceded in death by his parents, Willard M. (Chester) and Lydia E.

Morris Short and sister, Sara E. White. He is survived his wife of 65 years, C. Elizabeth (Betty) Hollingsworth Short formerly of Wyoming, DE; 4 children, H. Edward, Jr.

(Lucille) of Glasgow, DE, Mary Ellen Short of Baltimore, MD, Thomas C. (Monica) of Dover, DE, and Elizabeth A.
