State School the best information we can get, it is proba? ble that wo will receive no more of last year's state school funds. We think it is due the teachers to know what they ean expect. The diversion of this fund is so great that the trustees will not be able to pay the teachers for last year.

Its qualities will be thoroughly tested by Mr. Vick, and if found to perpetuate the qualities evidenced this year, the sale of Bee? will be made exclusively by him.

is certainly a move in the right direction to call attention to the filthy and consequently very un? healthy condition of yards in our midst. An efficient health-officer should by all means, be speedily appointed, who will not only inspect said yards, but will promptly and rigidly enforce the use of proper remedies for the same. The writer knows from daily observation that such very filthy yards are to be found that are a disgrace to any enlight? ened community. It may be owing to our natural stupidity that we fail to un? derstand the benefit of taking such par? ticular paius to have everything so scrupulously neat and pleasantly ar? ranged for casual visitors to see and en? joy, while inmates are constantly oblig? ed to endure the sight and smell of every kind of offensive matter.
