Reward offered in vandalism vandalism The Clarkstown Central School District is offering a $500 cash reward for information concerning the vandalism of property last month at the Felix V. Festa Junior High School in West Nyack.

In a paid advertisement in today's editions of The JournalNews, the School Board says it is offering the reward for information "leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals" who, police say, did more than $20,000 worth of damage to vehicles, athletic fields and a bus compound. The ad says that anyone with information about the incident should call Detective James Doyle, a Clarkstown Police Department youth officer, at 634-2447, ext. 228. All information, according to the ad, will be kept confidential. "We are hoping that a reward may bring out an individual who witnessed or may have knowledge of the incident." ATTACK Continued from B1 Williams.

She had sought a divorce, she said, but Williams had refused to agree to it. Gordon testified Monday that Williams told him of his fears concerning his wife, about three hours before the girl was found severely beaten. "I tried to calm him down, and I had a cup of tea with him," Gordon said of that conversation. "I said how could she marry someone else when she's still married to you? I told him I'd call Audrey about it later in the day." He said Williams appeared calm when he left after that conversation, but that Williams had been depressed since his wife left him the previous May. "He was always miserable without Audrey," Gordon said.

TALKS Continued from B1 emanating from one or both of the two sewage treatment plants operated by the town and county in Orangeburg. Finally, Haverstraw Supervisor Philip Rotella was there, just to make sure his town had a say in the matter. Mrs. Winikow said Haverstraw and Stony Point were the only two towns in the county that did not have a waste disposal problem. Rotella said he was at the meeting to make it known he intends to keep it that way.

"You're dealing with people, that makes the site (of the landfill) the key. No politician wants the (landfill) in his backyard with petitions galore and elections coming up," the Haverstraw Democrat said. But, Rotella's plea was not the only impassioned one made at the meeting. Ramapo Supervisor Frederick Rella told the audience that about 36 percent of his town's budget currently has to do with garbage disposal and the landfill. The added cost of trucking to another landfill and paying a higher price for it would only add another burden for Ramapo taxpayers.

"People cannot take it anymore. Especially people on fixed incomes. has to be taken into consideration," Rella said. He also said Williams was confined to an alcoholic treatment center during the summer of 1982. But at no time in the hours preceding the attack, Gordon said, did Williams 1 mention Tanya or his intention to hurt anyone. Before the attack, Mrs. Gordon said, Williams "was angry, he was swearing, he was saying that he was talking with Audrey, saying that she said she was getting married. He said he was talking to a man who told him they were married, and that Audrey was in his arms." Earlier in the court session, Mrs.

Gordon told of the anxious minutes the family spent awaiting the arrival of the police. She said, "He (Williams) kept saying over and over again that he killed Tanya; that he hit her on the head. He kept saying it over and over again. he said that he should die." County Judge Howard Miller said the trial would resume today at 1 p.m. questioned whether a controversial odor-control station should be built in Pearl River, as proposed by the County Sewer District.
