In an Interview granted today concerning the unique effort to sprout corn kernels found in ancient tombs, Governor Ramos said: "These kernels of corn are beautiful in size and perfectly red In color. "They are said to have been buried several thousand years ago, and they were found with the bodies of mummies claimed by scientists to be around 12,000 years old. "Mexican agricultural experts and Paxson C. Hayes, noted California ethnologist, who has just returned from an extended expedition into the region of these recent discoveries, will attempt to sprout the corn." The attempt to germinate this corn is being sponsored by the Sonora state government as a feature for the forthcoming Sonora agricultural and industrial exposition to be held in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, from November 20 to 30. As an introduction to th coming exposition the government has arranged to feature Hayes in a series of broadcasts over station XEBH on 1000 kilocycles from 12 p.

m. to 1 a. m. Pacific standard time, November 14, 16, 18 and 19. Hayes Is well known to audiences of the United States and much interest has been aroused for these forthcoming talks, which will have as an accompaniment a specially selected program of Mexican music.
