This always feels to me like a time to be creative: Start a new painting, take a photograph, write an article, or cook a meal. Or hold the hand of a loved one and enjoy the view. If you simply enjoy the view, you might also enjoy EmKo, a West Palm Beach venue for visual, performing, literature, media and culinary arts that bills itself as a "multi-disciplinary art gallery" dedicated to enriching community through art.

The culinary art studio within EmKo incorporates a restaurant, coffee shop and juice bar, gourmet market and bakery. Owner and artist Leo Koel and sommelier Miguel Ostrowsky recently were our hosts in Restaurant Jereve (from French for "I We walked in from the Em Ko sculpture garden, past the open kitchen and outside seating area, to the high-ceilinged restau- rant with a wall of wine Paul WI barrels. This dry white wine worked well with the cuttlefish; both were delicate, and the riesling had a nose of ripe yellow apples that combined with apricots and mineral in the palate.
