Funeral Friday. FUNERAL NOTICES said. Deputies returned fire. Wallach emptied his gun. Deputies ultimately cornered and shot him by a building on Shawnee Road.

The chase lasted at most about 15 minutes. The investigation brought dozens of officers swarming to the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and South Congress Avenue, shutting down one of the county's major thoroughfares. Wallach spent a year and a half in prison for burglary and has been arrested at least three other times, including for aggravated battery. Over the last several years, he has listed home addresses across the county, according to sheriff's office booking records. That no one else was hurt is "miraculous," Bradshaw said, praising the deputies who chased Wallach.

"You never know who you're pulling over," he added. The shooting is the second by a deputy in less than three weeks. Last month, a deputy killed 24-year-old Seth Adams in Loxahatchee Groves. adamplayfordpbpost.com funeral services Shuler's Memorial Chapel Roderick Stevens, LF Director 561-265-0622 Delray 561-882-4255 WPB WWW.SHULERSMEMORIAL.COM Tony Austin, LFDEMB Sam Austin, LFDEMB STRAGHN SONS TRI-CITY FUNERAL HOME 26 SW 5th Ave, Delray Bch, FL 561-272-8396 and more. SCOBEE-COMBS-BOWDEN FUNERAL HOME CREMATORY BOYNTON BEACH FAMILY OWNED OPERATED To express condolences andor make donations Visit PalmBeachPost.comobituaries JULIA CARVIN Julia Carvin, 90, passed away in peace Monday evening, May 28, with loved ones at her side. She was sustained and comforted through her final days, through the attentions and good humor of a close family, many friends, and her church, and by her lifelong faith that she'd find joy in the hereafter. Julia was born Julia Corinne Logan in Dallas, TX, in 1921.

In the depths of the Great Depression, she developed a deep caring for others, humbly attributing any goodness she might have to the influence of her parents and of the many Presbyterian clergymen among her ancestors. A graduate of Mary Baldwin College, she began work in 1943 as one of the first "hostesses" on an American Airlines DC-3 between Dallas, New York, and Mexico City. While so employed, she met her husband to be, Charles Walter Carvin, Jr. They were married for forty-nine years, until his death in 1995. Julia raised six children, first in Westchester County, New York, and since 1967, in the Palm Beaches.

Her love of life was exemplary. At age 60, no longer able to golf, she took up tennis and went parasailing. Her tennis career was cut snort when, at the age of 71, she broke her knee while Whitewater rafting Her sports career stymied, she began to accumulate master points at the bridge table. Independence was important to her; the fall that resulted in her final ill health came as she made her way, alone, to a bridge tournament which, we can be sure, she was determined to win. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, and sang in its choir for decades.

She also sang regularly in nursing homes and hospitals with the Morning Glories. Her eldest son, "Chickie', passed away in 1996. She is survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, including her daughter, Corinne Lewis, of St. Petersburg, FL, and four sons, David, of Thomasville, GA; Joseph, of Chesterfield, VA; Christopher, of Macon, GA; and James, of Palm Beach Gardens. Memorial service at 1 1:00 AM, June 30, at First Presbyterian Church on Prosperity Farms North Palm Beach.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, for the Morning Glories. Mom, please know how much you meant to us all. You taught us the most important things in life. We'll miss you.
