The Wonderbag Portable Slow Cooker isn't your mother's Crock-Pot, but it's a good tailgating option. CONTRIBUTED Here are some fun ways to get the party started. By Staci Sturrock Palm Beach Post Staff Writer As every die-hard football fan knows, the fun of game day begins not with the kickoff, but with the flick of "on" switches in the parking lot. First step: Crank up some tunes or tune in to the pregame show. Next: Pour your favorite potent potable.

Then: Set out some chairs, roll out the grill and, come on, baby, light that fire. With the college gridiron season upon us, we present our Big 10 Picks for Tailgating Like a Pro. From the new to the tried and true, these items won't ensure victory, but they could help avoid the dreaded party fumble: GrillEasy FireQube: It doesn't get easier than this single-use container made of recycled cardboard. Place the cube in your grill, light its wick and let an internal vent system do the rest of the work. As the container burns away, the lump charcoal hidden inside ignites and, within 15 minutes, stands ready to cook your burgers and brats.

CONTRIBUTED I dunno. Snoopy walks on two legs, too, and homey's a dog. Then again, Goofy's a dog, or looks like a dog, and he walks upright and drives a car and has a giant mouse best friend who has a dog as a pet. I always thought that was weird, like Pluto and Goofy were part of some weird cartoon dog caste system and maybe Goofy was working hard behind the scenes to liberate Pluto from the evil Mouse Majority and stuff. (Yano notes that Hello Kitty actually has a cat of her own called Charmmy Kitty.

4,4 Yano told the Los Angeles Times that when she was asked to curate the 40th anniversary retrospective exhibit at LA's Japanese American National Museum, Sanrio was pleased with her script for the exhibit but disagreed on one point that Hello Kitty is not a feline. Instead, "she's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat.

She's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature," Yano said. Umm OK. But somebody forgot to tell her CAT WHISKERS, HER CATTAIL, HER CAT EARS AND HER NAME, WHICH HAS THE WORD "KITTY" IN IT. Leslie Gray Streeter Mind blown.

My preteen mind is blown. Hello Kitty, that charming little hair-bowed sweetheart that's made the folks at Sanrio very, very wealthy for the last several decades, is apparently, according to Hello Kitty expert Christine R. Yano, "not a cat." What? A Hello Kitty expert says the cartoon character is not a cat, but rather a girl and a friend. CONTRIBUTED.
