4 Local Agent. Tucson Tucson OLD PUEBLO HOME IS NEARLY FINISHED Inside Work To Begin In the Near Future All of the rough construction work of the Old Puebb club building hai been completed and it really now is only a question of days 'until the place will be ready for tne tender mercies of the interior decorator and finishers. The street, which as been obstructed for many weeks by huge piles of lumber and other of the necessaries for the rough work, has been cleared and even the top piece of the building Is practical': completed. The original prediction of the contractors that 1J)p club would be installed not laler than the first of April bids fair to be crystalized into fact. When finished, it is quite evident that architecturally and from the standpoint of finishing and beauty, the building is gsing to equal any that have bepn erected in thiti city.

TERRITORIAL CONVENTION IS SOUGHT BY LOGAL REPUBLICANS Presence of Arizona's Executive In Washington May Have Been Caused By N. M. Statehood Assurances (Special to The Star) HIOENIX, Feb.

19 Governor Kibbey reached' Washington. TJ. Tues-ilny evening, will probably remain there until Friday and then return to Arizona. Though 'no word has yet been received from Governor Kibbey, It is probable that he has by this time met President Roosevelt and several of the prominent members of Congress. Aside from what may take place politically, Kibbey's visit to Washington at this time is looked upon as being of the utmost importance to Arizona, especially in view of the positive statehood promises made to New Kibbey on his last visit to confer with President Roosevelt, obtained assurance from him that, he had abandoned his joint statehood policy.

Ixiyal Arlzonans are now hoping that when he returns from this trip Governor Kibbey will bring with him a promise that Arizona is to be admitted to the full glory of statehood at the short session of congress at the same time New Mexico feels confident it will get in. Many Believe That There Is Not a Territorial Statute Operate Under Strenuous efforts are going to be made by Attorneys. Worsley Morse to secure the appointment of a lunacy commission by Judge Klrkpatrlck of the probate court to inquire into the sanity of Bessie Chase-Hawkins, who is charged with burglarizing the Flemming millinery store about ten days ago. The allegation is made that she is simple minded and has never been really accountable to the law for her conduct.

The husband, jointly charged with the burglary, will not be allowed to have recourse to such a plea but will be bound over to the grand Jury, probably without contesting it. The genera impression is that the justice court will have to reconvene, however, to try the woman. The hearing was postponed one week by Judge Rtchey on the request of her attorney in reference to the lunacy commission, but the general impression is that there no provi-nion of the law which makes the holding of such an inquiry at this time possible and that she will be returned there fo rthe custpinarj: hearing.
