Tucson Girl, Trucker Die In Accident BRAWLEY, June 29 (P)- A Tucson girl and the driver of a truck-trailer were killed when their vehicle plunged into a drainage canal five miles east of here Saturday. Dead were Elizabeth Ann Weir, 15, of 3365 E. Drexel Tucson, and Howard Douglas Markham, 43, of Denton, the driver of the vehicle.

California's Highway Patrolmen said the girl was asleep in the truck's sleeping compartment when the vehicle went through a highway stop sign on State Highway 115 and careened into the canal across the road. The trailer's heavy load of foodstuffs shifted forward, fatally crushing the girl and the driver. It required more than four hours to extricate their bodies. Mary Cullen, 10, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Theodore J. Cullen, and Tom Sargent, about 40 of Phoenix, were hungry and tired but otherwise in good condition. They became separated from a hiking party Saturday afternoon and wandered through the rolling, wooded country all night. Early Sunday they stumbled into the Creithton Ranch on the Fort Valley Road, just in time for breakfast.

A search party of 20 volunteers and deputies had scanned the high country for the pair since Saturday afternoon. The Cullen girl and Sargent were with a group that left from the Snow Bowl, bound for mile-high Humphrey Peak, about a three hours' walk. They were last seen about 1:30 p.m., then became separated from the hikers. Air Royal Youth Tries Boots, Cowboy Hat GOLDEN, June 29 (PL Most of the girls of his acquaintance can't pronounce his name, but Bijan Esfandiary's flashy convertible, his cowboy hat and boots and his ready grin are as American as apple pie. Bijan is a student here at the Colorado School of Mines. He also is the brother of Soraya, former Queen of Iran now known as Princess Soraya. Bijan rolled at the school a month ago after he and Soraya journeyed here from Europe. Bijan, a stocky youth with dark, wavy hair, plans after graduation to manage three copper and molybdenum mines in Iran.

While a student, however, he's following a policy of doing as his fellows do. Thus the western attire and the convertible. Bijan lives in a school dormitory, dates local girls, eats his meals in the school cafeteria. "I like Colorado very much," he says. "I've been studying seven hours a day and taking a few trips."
