Marcella Tandy Peter, son, renowned educator and long time West Palm Beach resident died early this month. -44, fl She was 97. She began her professional career as a teacher in the Detroit public school system and was the first black woman administrator of a secondary school. She later became a Regent Assistant Superintendent for the Detroit public schools. In addition to her professional duties she also served as a wedding planner, professional shopper, caterer and travel coordinator to a host of clients around the country.

Born to Corinne and Howard Tandy in Detroit, Michigan, she was the second of six siblings. Siblings Genevieve, Christine, Howard and Robert preceded her in death. She married Detroit local business man Harvey Hughes Peterson on June 30, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1995. Dr.

Peterson received her Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University, Master's Degree from the University of Michigan and Ph.D. in Education from Wayne State University. In 1977 Dr. Peterson accepted a post in the Carter Administration as Assistant to the Director of the Office of Revenue Sharing in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, moving to Washington DC.

In 1986 Dr. Peterson was named National Executive Director of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was an active member of the Northeasterners and the Black Women's Agenda. In 1988 the couple moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. They had many friends and were active members of Grace Episcopal Church.

Dr. Peterson is survived by her sister Valeria McCray, sister-in-law Helen Tandy; nieces Mary Esther Stepp, Vivienne Jackson, Diane Green, Gayle Smallwood and Lisa Smallwood; nephews Stephen McCray and David Smallwood; and a host of grand nieces and nephews. A sorority service will be held at a future date in Los Angeles, where she resided in her last years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her name. Shirley A. Marrano, age 71, of Jupiter Florida passed away April 25, 2014 after a short illness. Shirley is predeceased by her parents Rufus and Syble Shields. Shirley is survived by her husband Peter J. Marrano, her two sons Wade Wittman (Jennifer), Chad Wittman, her sisters Sharon Erny and Sallie (Randy) Conley.

She is also survived by her Sister in laws, Barbara (Mick) Honeck and Holly (Dwight) Smith along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of many dear friends. Especially her best friend Ann Miller. Shirley touched many hearts and lives with her love and generosity. She spent many years at a job she loved and considered like family with QVC. Janet grew up in Winchester, MA, graduated from Lase II College, and was married to her high school sweetheart, John Ayer Maynard, who died in 2005.

They lived for many years in Winchester and in Saint Paul, Minnesota, before retiring to Palm Beach Gardens. Janet was active in the Winton Club in Winchester, the Skating Club of Boston, North Oaks Golf Club in Saint Paul, Arden Hills (MN) Curling Club, and PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, volunteering at many PGA events and the Ryder Cup at the Belfry in 2002. She was born in Newark, Ohio, on September 7, 1940 to the late 4 James and Frances McPeek. She traveled extensively with T4v her husband in the military, )41 living in Germany and Japan and numerous places in the USA. Her love of travel ex- tended into her retirement years, where she happily traveled with her husband and many close friends.

Brenda was a Medical transcriptionist for 40 years. She completed her career managing a team in West Palm Beach. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying not just her travels, but every moment with her husband, family and friends, who have shown their love and dedication to Brenda, just as she has given them for so many years. Brenda is survived by Dennis L. Moore, her loving husband of 55 years; son, Brian(Kathy) of Lake Worth Florida; beloved grandchildren Justin, Kyle and Brandon; sister Kim Downs (Richard) of Granville, and her loving nephews.

Passing before her was her brother J.Rodney McPeek (Debbie) of Granville, Ohio. Sari was born in Romania, daughter of Michael and Leah Soifer and sister to five siblings.

Sari's parents and brother perished in the Holocaust. Sari and her four sisters survived and relocated to the United States, Canada and Israel. Sari was known for her strength, selflessness, dedication, love of family and delicious cooking. Her greatest wish was simple yet profound: that her family should always be healthy and happy. Sari was the beloved wife of her late husband, Gyula, and ran his New York textile printing business until she relocated to Florida.

Sari is survived by her three children, Martin (Deena), Jerry (Lauretta), and Lynn (Norbert), her nine grandchildren, Nola, Jackie, Grant, Jordana (Michael), Howard (Leah), Gregory, Jessica, Corey, and Eric, and her sister, Pearl Delikat (Otto). She is also deeply missed by her loving extended family throughout the United St ates, Canada and Israel. Sari was not only a very important part of the lives of her children, grandchildren and friends, but was also a vibrant part of her community. Her absence is already felt; her rich legacy of resilience, values and family will be honored by all of those who were privileged to know and love her. After graduating he went into the Air Force and became a B-47 Pilot in Strategic Air Command. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to ride his Harley Davidson Road King. He was a member of ABATE Lighthouse Chapter in Jupiter. Harold will be remembered by his family and friends for his humor and quick wit, and love of children and animals, especially his buddy, Damien.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carmen Y. Navy of Hobe Sound; children, Sean Navy of Hobe Sound and Chantel Navy of Los Angeles, CA, where she attends college; parents, Harold S. Sr. and Arlillian Navy of Silver Spring, MD; sister, Valerie Navy-Daniels and husband, Darrell Daniels of Stoughton, MA; brother, Michael Navy and his wife, Samantha of Ennis, TX. Harold was the uncle of Nicole and Dylan Daniels and Mikeala and Michael Alexander Navy.

Streit USMC 96, of Jupiter, FL and for- merly of Bellmore, NY, died on April 22, 2014 at Hospice of Palm Beach County. A gradu ate of St Paul's School in Garden City, NY, he received his B.A. in French from Columbia where, more importantly, he met Mary, his future wife. While still in college he joined the US Marine Corps in 1937. During World War II, he served with the 1st Marine Division throughout the Pacific including Guadalcanal and Peleliu.

Upon his retirement from the Corps in 1949 he began a second career in public education as an administrator at Jonas Salk Junior High School in Levittown, NY. His third career was as founder of Wesley College, a secondary school in St. George's, Grenada, W.I. in the late 1970's. In 1983, Vic and Mary retired to Tequesta, where they spent many happy years at Little Club.

They moved to Allegro in Jupiter in late 2012. Surviving family includes his wife of 72 years, Mary Whitford Streit, four sons Robert (Rebecca), Andrew, Daniel (Lisa), and Tom (Chris), a daughter, Lydia Machell, and 10 grandchildren.
