Irla Sunday School Claw "Pill Bottle" Large Crowd A. large and pleased audience gath- orhtg at the Assembly Hall of tho Evangelical Church Tuesday evening to attend the comedy presented by tho Young Women's Missionary Society of the Kret Methodist Church. The money raised will go towards Missionary purposes. The young people were, coached by Miss Mildred Chappell. In two weeks Mra. John Jehle will entertain the club. Eagles' Final Dance Attended by 7B Couples Seventy-five couples attended the final of a series of ten dances at the Eagles' Home Tuesday night. Music was furnished by Glassmeyer's three- piece orchestra and dancing was e.n- joyed until a late hour. At 10:30 o'clock lunch was served.

August Martini received a j'ear'n Eagles' Dues for having been the member who attended the series, and Roberts receiving a prize which entitles him to a free initiation into the orgatuzation. Tho awarding of the prize created much interest. Last night the committee in charge of the series received many requests for another indoors dance but it was decided that tho weather was too warm Aid Society To Havo Membership Drive The Aid Society met at the Evangelical Church yesterday with a large attendance. Mra. J.

Maus and Mrs. Spencer Johnson gave reports on the Federation meeting held by the Southern Illinois District in East St. Louts on April 25th. Forty members attended from Alton. The members were interested to hear the women tell the advantages of federating.

The society has entered in upon a membership contest in order that there might be a material growth before the churches celebrates its 70th anniversary this fall. The goal Is 800 members at least. The membership is now 236. The membership has been divided into two sections with Mrs, Henry Busse and Mrs. Harry Meyer as captains.

At the meeting Tuesday Mrs. Edward Huebner played -Mendnlson's Spring Song and a clever chalk talk on "Keep your eyes on the Big Thing" was given by Mrs. Meyer. Poetry and Scriptual clippings were given by the members present. At the close of the afternoon light refreshments were, served.

Edward O'Brien of Henry entertained last evening, having as guests fourteen young women. Refreshments was served In the prettily decorated dining room. A large basket of daisies was in the center of the table, and from the centre pink streamers, to which pink cards were attacher, were drawn. Upon drawing the cards tho guesta discovered the names of Harry Schlag and Miss Alyena -Ernst and the date June 6th. During the evening bunco was played and favors were won by Mrs.

Lewis Glaiber, Mrs. Frank pwyer, Miss Hjlda Benslnger and Mrs. Harry Ernst. The announcement of the engagement comes as a surprise to a large number of the bride-elect's friends in the city, although by relatrves and her intimates it was learned some time ago that the wedding would takft place at an early date. Miss Ernst is the daughter of Emil HOEFERT BROS.
