Seven Rockland County men enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during September through T-Sgt. John A. I-aVene, Air Force recruiter, at 39 S. Main Spring Valley.

The enlistees are Kenneth Seliwaeli, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schwach of 30 S. Cole Spring Valley; Richard Marino 1st Lt. Kilwanl T.

Egan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Egan of Seven Hobo West Nyack, is at Chu Lai, Vietnam, serving with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 263, a unit of the First Marine Aircraft Wing. Besides fighting the Viet Cong, the unit also is engaged in a civic action program designed to assist the Vietnamese people in complet ng self-help projects, such as the building of wells, culverts, small bridges and schools.

202, Mt. Ivy, has returned to Newport, R.I., aboard the destroyer USS Ma.ssey after a four month tour of duty in the Mediterranean. Airman Robert P. SuUr, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Robert G. Sutter of 4 Hidden Valley Suffern, has completed basic training at Amarillo AFB, Tex. A 1966 graduate of Spring Valley High School, he has been assigned to the Air Force Technical Training Center at Kocsler AFB, for specialized schooling as a communications specialist. Airman 1-C Harold S. Thomas, son of Mrs.

Evelyn M. Thomas of 1 Summit Spring Valley, has arrived for duty at Andrews AFB, Md. Thomas, an aircraft mechanic, previously served at Udorn Royal Thai AFB, Lt. Col. Daniel J.

Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Miller of Main Stony Point, has been recognized for helping his unit win the coveted U.S. Air Force Outstanding Unit award.

Col. Miller, a CH Till 3 Sea King pilot at Forbes AFB, will wear the distinctive blue service ribbon as a permanent decoration as a member of the 1370th Photo Mapping Wing. He is a graduate of Haver-straw-Stony Point High School. His wife, Julia, is the daughter of Mrs. Francis Bro-phy of Grassy Point.

John E. Manifold, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Manifold of 25 Grand Tappan, completed a Hawk missile and launcher maintenance course last month at the Army Air Defense School, Ft.

Bliss, Tex. Army Sgt. Franklin II. Schiiulis, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest E. Schaulis of Somerset, and whose wife, Sharon, lives in Spring Valley, was assigned to Battery of the 7th Artillery's 5th a Hercules missile unit, near Franklin Lakes, N.J., recently- Sgt. Shaulis entered the Army in January 1966 and was last stationed in Korea. He took basic training at Ft. Gordon, Ga.
