Obituaries of the Day Earl C. Shoop Mrs. William J. Earl C. Shoop, 63, of 24 Oregon Road, Cox Trailer Village, died Friday at Wilmington General Division after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Shoop lived at the trailer village for the past three years. Before that, he lived in Upland, for 21 years. He was employed as an engineer at the Penn Steel Castings Co. Surviving are his widow, the former Mary Virginia Fahey; a son, Earl L.

of New Castle; a daughter, Mrs. Perince J. Crawford of Upland; a brother, Blain of Philadelphia; three sisters, Mrs. Winona Curtis, Mrs. Lulu Haines and Mrs.

Stella Hovis, all of Waynesboro, and seven grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday morning at 11 at the Worrall Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Kennett Square, Pa. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, 'Kennett Square.

Friends may call tomorrow night at the funeral home. Thomas J. Patille Sr. Thomas J. Patille 53, of 307 Woodlawn died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Patille was born in Frederica, and had spent most of his life in Wilmington. He was employed for 29 years as a machine operator by NVF Co. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Patille; a son, Thomas Wilmington; two daughters, Mrs.

Carolyn Howdershelt of Wilmington and Miss Lucille Patille, at home; three brothers, Richard Joseph and Harry Patille, all of Wilmington; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Donohve of Philadelphia and Mrs. Susan Nettler of Franklinville, N.J.; and one grandson. Requiem High Mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4th St.

and Bancroft Parkway, Wednesday morning at 9:30. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Corleto Funeral Home, 808 N. Union tomorrow night.

Mrs. Roxie Williams Rickards Mrs. Roxie Williams Rickards, 67, of Dania, died Saturday in the Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. She was a sister of Sen. John J.

Williams, of Millsboro. Her husband, Albert Rickards, died in 1964. Mrs. Rickards was a native of Sussex County and a member of the Dania Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Leroy of Millsboro and Harold of Dania; a daughter, Mrs.

Pauline Smith of Fort Lauderdale, four sisters, Mrs. Ella Evans and Mrs. Eva Daisey, both of Frankford, Mrs. Olive Rose. of Millsboro and Mrs.

Blanche Smith of Salisbury, two other brothers, Harry of Millsboro and Elbert of Milford; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2. at the James Funeral Home in Millsboro. Interment will be in Millsboro Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until the time of the service.

Man Stricken In Restaurant A 78-year-old Kennett Square, man was pronounced dead on arrival last night at Wilming-302 ton General Division lapsing in a city restaurant. Frank Hicky was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m. Deputy Coroner John Yasik said relatives, who were with Hicky when he was stricken the New York Restaurant, 410 Market told him the victim has been under a doctor's care for a heart condition. Lloyd Ibach, 77, Banjo Man, Dies Lloyd H. Ibach, 77, a banjo player who performed regularly with the Brecks Mill String Band, died Friday night at Riverside Hospital.

Mr. Ibach, 1401 N. Scott had been a patient at the hospital for a week. He was a dance band leader on the Keith and Orpheum circuits in days when he shared billing with Milton Berle and Eddie Cantor. He was a native of Reading, and started in vaudeville in 1907 as a member of the Stavordale Quintet.

He had lived in Wilmington the past 35 years and entertained nightly at Martin's Steak House, 14th and Scott which he operated, in addition to playing with the string band. The first Dorchester County casualty in the Vietnam war is 21-year-old Marine corpsman William (Billy) Dayton. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Dayton of near Jacktown, about two miles east here, were notified yesterday of the death of their son.

According to the notification, Dayton stepped on a land mine and died shortly afterwards base hospital. He would have been 22 next Sunday. He was a 1963 graduate of Cambridge High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps eight months ago. He had been in Vietnam six months. Overseas Airman Gets Draft Notice SEATTLE (P-A notice of induction for Kenneth W.

Bracken, 24, arrived this week from a local draft board but his mother, Mrs. Ida P. Bracken, says she's going to send it back. Bracken is a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in Adana, Turkey.

Charles E. Showell SELBYVILLE Charles Edward Showell, 72, died at his home Saturday after an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Williams Showell; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Lawrence, Selbyville, and Mrs.

Josephine Woodhouse, Philadelphia, a stepson, Frank Holland, Wilmington, five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Derrickson, Selbyville, and Mrs. Anna Mae Mumford, Bishop, and three brothers, William Showell, Bishop, Harry Showell, Selbyville, and David Showell, Philadelphia. Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Zoar Methodist Church, Selbyville where friends may call tomorrow night and from noon until the time of services on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Long Cemetery, Selbyville.

L. A. DeBlois, State Safety Pioneer, Dies Lewis Amory DeBlois, 83, one of the founders of the Delaware Safety Council, died yesterday at his home in Sharon, Conn. Mr. DeBlois was an early pioneer in industrial safety and a past president of the National Safety Council.

A native of Brownsville, he was a graduate of the Harvard School of Engineering, class of 1899. A spokesman for the Delaware Safety Council said Mr. DeBlois was IS an associate of Irenee du Pont when the latter founded the Delaware Safety Council in 1918. He was an early president of the Delaware Safety Council and later served as president of the National Safety Council in 1923. Although Mr.

DeBlois moved away from Delaware, he was an active member of the Delaware Safety Council until his death. Surviving are his widow, Ida Belle Stevenson DeBlois; two sons, Lewis A. DeBlois of Montreal and Stephen W. DeBlois, of Concord, and four granddaughters. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Edward H. Tucker Mrs. Marie H. Tucker, let Gardens, 626 McLane died yesterday Union at Park Wilmington General Division after a long illness.

She was born in Keithley, England, but had lived in the Wilmington area for the past years. She was the widow of Edward H. Tucker, who died in February 1961. She is survived by a son, William P. Tucker, Cardiff; sister, Mrs.

Walter Hanf of Lancaster, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be offered Wednesday morning at 10:30 St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Du Pont Sts. Marvin B. Lassiter Graveside services were to be held today at Silverbrook Cemetery for Marvin B. Lassiter, 64, of 507 W. 9th who died Friday. Mr.

Lassiter was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Division, following an apparent heart attack at his home. He was employed at the former Baldwin Locomotive Works for eight years but had been disabled for several years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Lassiter; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Farron of Wilmington; a stepson, James Lassiter of Elsmere; two brothers, Steven of Orlando, and Basil of Charlotte, N.C., and a sister, Mrs.

Blanche Upchurch of Raleigh, N.C. Glenn McKibbin Glenn McKibbin, 66, of 803 Snuff Mill Road, Centerville, died Saturday at Delaware Division after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maye Barton McKibbin; two daughters, Mrs. Grace E.

Burton Louisville, and Mrs. Marjorie Stabler Jr. of Wilmington; a son, Glenn B. of Miami, and 10 grandchildren. Services will be tomorrow noon at Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Centerville.

Interment will be in Lower Brandywine Cemetery. Friends may call at the church an hour before the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church. Other Deaths Water (Fats) Pichon CHICAGO of the last of the jazz pianists who played the riverboat out of New Orleans, Walter (Fats) Pichon, died in a Chicago hospital yesterday. He was 60.

The man who bandleader Paul Whiteman called "the fastest left hand in show business," began his career at the age of 14. The Rev. Charles R. Jones, Jr. DAYTON, Tenn.

-The Rev. Charles R. Jones the minister who conducted funeral services for William Jennings Bryan in 1925, died Saturday. He was 91. Mr.

Jones was of Dayton's Methodist Episcopal Church South when Bryan died shortly after completing the prosecution of John Scopes in the famous "Monkey Trial." Thomas Morrow CHAMPAIGN, Ill Thomas Morrow, 63, a veteran of 35 years as a reporter and nist for the Chicago Tribune, (died Saturday. A he quick man with a funny story, was best known as conductor of the Tribune's Line 0'Type or Two column. He retired recently. Gerald B. Lambert -Services PRINCETON, for Gerald B.

Lambert, who and popularized Listerine headed two giant corporations? septic and Gillete Blue Blades, were scheduled here today. Lambert died at his home Saturday at the age of 80. In 1923 Lambert became pres-909 ident of Lambert Pharmaceuticals. The company was founded by his father and produced Listerine. Mrs.

William Taylor Mrs. Inez Taylor, 60, formerly of Wilmington, died Friday in Ithaca, N.Y., where she had lived for the past 30 years. Her family said that she died following an apparent stroke. Mrs. Taylor was the widow of William Taylor.

She was born in Lawrenceville, and came to Wilmington at an early age. She was manager of the Gamma Alpha Fraternity House at Cornell University for the past 30 years. She was secretarytreasurer of the Ithaca chapter of the American Federation of Negro Women, Golden Rule Club, and the Merrymakers Club. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ithaca. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.

Mary Cephas, Hockessin, and Mrs. Ida Ingrams, Philadelphia; her father, Waverly Starks, Claymont; six sisters. Mrs. Carrie Bland, Mrs. Lucy Triggs and Mrs.

Jeffica Shorts, all of Claymont, Mrs. Florence Church, Chester. Mrs. Nellie Winfield, Coatesville, and Mrs. Lawrence Dickerson, Wilmington; five brothers, liam and Paul Starks, Claymont, John Lee Wilmington, Walter BaltiStarks, more, and Nathaniel Starks, Boothwyn, Pa.

Richard C. Mrs. Sarah Kendall Bartoli, 29, of 10 Locust Elsmere, wife of Richard C. Bartoli, died yesterday at Wilmington General Division after a long illness. Mrs.

Bartoli was an agent for Nationwide Insurance Co. She was a member of Elsmere Presbyterian Church. A native of Wilmington, she lived in the area all of her life. She is survived by her husband; a son, Louis, at home; her father, Harry G. Kendall, Wilmington; four brothers, Nor1 man Kendall, Leavenworth, and Harry George and John Kendall, all of Wilmington, and two sisters, Mrs.

Market Newport, was found dead at home yesterday after a long illness. Mrs. Selway was born in Talbot County, Md. She moved to Delaware 50 years ago and lived with her son at the Newport address for the past three years. She was the widow of the late William J.

Selway, who died in 1948. Survivors, in addition to her son, John are two brothers, Harry Berridge of Milford and Charles Berridge of Hatboro, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Broom St. Thomas J. Gainor Thomas J. Gainor, 63, a retired Wilmington policeman of 2200 Downing Lane, Kiamensi Heights, was pronounced dead on arrival at Delaware Division, yesterday. He was stricken with an apparent heart attack at the Hotel du Pont yesterday morning.

Mr. Gainor is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace V. Gainor; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Biesinger of Willow Run; two sisters, Mrs.

Thelma Dempsey of Newark and Mrs. Mabel Justice of Showell, a brother, John Brookland Terrace, and a granddaughter. Mr. Gainor retired last September the Security Force of the 'Chrysler Corp. in Newark after 15 years service.

In 1949 he retired from the Wilmington Bureau of Police after 20 years' service. Mr. Gainor was a member of Eureka Lodge 23, the Delaware Consistory; Nur Temple Shrine; Outer Guard Appointed Divan; The Shield and Square Club; Lehigh Valley Club, Allentown, Lower Delaware Shrine Club; Shrine Club of Delaware, and The First and Central Presbyterian Church.
