STAR FUR Semi- Monthly Meeting of Wood River Woman's Club. The memi-monthly meeting of the Wood River Woman's Club will be held on Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. In addition to the regular program. Mrs. E.

E. Endicott will address the meeting in the interent of tho sale of the Liborty Loan Bonds, The evening will be taken up with papers on Home Economics, papers to be read by the Mesdames M. F. Mannihg, Otto Hoffman, the Misses Helen Gibson. Mabel Soliday and Mra.

J. Frank McCredle. The papers of the evening will be on "Household Science and the Home," "Breads," "Educating Our Girls For the "Salads and Salad Dressinga," and "Planning of Meals." Music for the evening will be under the direction of Mrs. E. Endicott.

The meeling of the Women's Club Thursday evening will be an open ECARIOD, and the members are leged to bring their friends with them. Liberty Loan Committee Met at Wood River Bank. A meeting of the Wood River committee on the Third Liberty Loan Bond was held last night in the First State and Savings Bank in Wood River made at for which plans and were tontatively a parade pageant to held next week in Wood River in connection with the Liberty Loan drive. Another meeting will be held in a few days to make further arrangements, It was desired to get Private Pent, a returned soldier from Europe, to come to Wood River and deliver an address and H. H.

Clark was delegated to g0 to St. Louis today to attempt to make for bringing Private Peat to Wood River, Wood- -River Man Is Sued for Vicious Dog. A warrant was issued against Nic Seibold of Wood River on complaint of Robert Span, charging him with having in his possession a vicious dog. The trial was held last night at which it was decided to withdraw the complaint on condition that Seibold should pay the doctor bill for treatment given to a child of Robert FAR GRAFTON A FIT Funeral of Mrs. Rosa McClintock.

Mrs. Rosa McClintock died vory suddenly at her home in St. Louls Sunday afternoon about 1:30 after EL short 111- ness. Mrs. McClintock had given birth to a son on Saturday, March 30th, and she and the baby getting along nicely, Mr.

McClintock took the two chillren out to the park to see the Liberty Loan parade and had left the but a short time when Mrs. McSlintock took seriously ill and died. The hushand and children were shock ed when they returned home a few hours later and found their mother had been dead since 1:30. The deceased was born in Grafton about forty years ago and lived here all her life last fall when they went to St. Louis to make their home.

She was a woman who was loved by all and will be sadly missed by her fumily. She is survived by her band, Jean McClintock, two children, Alloen, eight years old, and Gerald Ave. Her aged mother, Mrs. Angeline Dougherty of Grafton, Ave sisters STOMACH UPSET? Kessinger pre sident of the Wood River Board of Education. It was recently announced that the terms of Robert Parks as prosident and George Gunnison and J. P. Eckman as members of the board expire this year. Mr.

Parks stated to that he would not again be a candidate for the office, and it 1s understpod that neither of the two rotiring members of the board desire the office again. Standard Oil Employas Expect Raise in With the announcement mado that the employes of the Standard Oil Refinery at Bayonne, N. were to be granted an increase In salary from 10 to 15 per cent after the first of the mouth, it is believed that the same rule will hold good at the Standard Oil Reflnery. While no dofinite announcement ban been- made to that effect, it is believed that an Incroase la pay will also be given at the Standard Oil Refinery at Wood River. Notes.

Ben Halloran arrived yesterday to spend a furlough with his parents in Wood River. Halloran is stationed at Camp Logan, Houston, Texas. Harold Christy has returned to Camp Logan after having spent a ten day. furlough with friends in Wood River. Rev.

B. N. Manning, of Alton, met with the children, who are preparing to make their Holy Communion this afternoon pat 3:30 o'clock, at the Senglar Hall. Rev. Manning is instructing the children.

John McClintock went to Grafton last evening to attend the funeral of McClintock' elster-in-law, Mra. Jean McClintock, which was held Wednesday morning. Mrs. Rex. Hamliton and Mrs.

James Mooney went to St. Louts Monday to visit. Mrs. J. B.

Conroy, who WAS operated upon recently. Mrs. Conroy is improving but will be unable to leave the hospital for some time. Mr. and Mrs.
