TV SCENE Christmasing with Perry Como I Perry Como welcomes in the yule-tide season this Tuesday, Dec. 17, with a festive one-hour musical-variety show that will see the inimitable Mr. Como hit the ice for a try at figure skating with Olympic gold medalist Peggy Fleming. The celebration is called, naturally, "The Perry Como Christmas Show," and will also have on Rich Little and The Carpenters. It will be seen on Channel 2 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

COMO, the popular singer who starred in his own long-running television series, has also been performing host of numerous television specials, including "Perry Como's Summer of 74," presented earlier this season on the Network. In "The Perry Como Christmas Show," Como gets a figure-skating lesson from Olympic skater Peggy Fleming, who also displays her gold medal talents on ice with two animated penguins. Como also does some holiday shopping and runs into an array of familiar personalities all portrayed by Rich Little. He is joined by The Carpenters for a musical medley and Revives a favorite Como holiday tradition with a Nativity sequence. Special guests Karen and Richard Carpenter, the young sister-and-broth-er recording duo, have garnered an impressive 11 "gold" albums selling over a million copies each.

Winners of three prestigious Grammy Awards, the Carpenters have guest starred on a number of television variety programs and hosted their own musical series, "Make Your Own Kind of Music." Miss Fleming was three-time world figure-skating champion and winner, at age 19, of the 1968 Olympic gold medal in Grenoble, France. The dark-haired young skater, who brought her own ballerina-like skating form into fashion, now stars with the Ice Follies and in her own television specials. COMEDIAN and mimic Rich Little has performed his uncanny impressions of public figures on numerous television variety programs. He makes regular appearances and acts as guest host on ''The Tonight Show," and starred in the series "Love on a Rooftop." Nick Vanoff is producer and director of "The Perry Como Christmas Show" for Roncom Productions. Perry Como stars in his own holiday season show THE JOURNAL-NEWS 3.
