B. Roblneon It Manager. Mr. D. B.

Robinson, the general manager of the Sonora Limited Railroad, it In the elty, having returned from La Vegas, where be went with his family. They will remain then daring the summer. A re porter for the Stab met Mr. Robinson at Porter's Hotel Monday and conversed with him some time regarding the toad under his management. How much of your road thai far com pleted? inquired the reporter.

The track is laid for 195 miles this side of Guaymas. Its entire length, when completed, will be 970 miles, oonneotlng at Nogales with the A. T. 8. F.

R. Wo expect to hare trains running through to this point by September 90. Is it probable the Santa F. road wil) reaoh Nogales by that time? That is the expectation, and when this oocurs there wi 1 be through line from Benson and the East direct to Guaymas. Do yon think there is any probability of a branch being built from Calabasas to Taoson, thus giving oar city direct oom mvnicauoa with Guaymas? I cannot say, as, of coarse, oar road ha nothing whatever to do with the matter.

you minx soon a road would prove a paying enterprise? Well, I can hardly answer yo. It seems to me, however, that the Benson connection would be sufficient tor through traffic, and will probably monopolise it. It is hard to determine what would be the local business on the rosd you mention. now many trains are you at present running on the Sonora Limited? A mixed train eaoh way daily. Three passenger coaches are attaohed, and the travel is very good, considering it is al most entirely local.

what is the amount of your rolling stock? nr. i nave 10 locomotives, iu passenger coaches and 50 box ears. Yon might state tha; sinoe the load was started tally 68 vessels have'srrlved at Guaymas loaded exclusively with material for ns. Oar railroad iron oomes from England, bat the engines and cars are of American make, all ooming in vessels around the Horn, a trip averaging 120 days. nnat kind of labor do in track construction? entirely native.

We have now. about i.ouu Mexicans and 1,000 Yaqui Indians, now ao yon like them? They are in every way satisfactory. The laques especially are the hardest workers "er w. As a rule, they are peaceable ana oraerly, and give ns no unnecessary trouble. 'I ibrough what sort of country does the Honors liimtted ran? Mining.

The country is fast filling np with experienced American mining men, and many valuable properties have been developed. Do you have any trouble with the cus tom-house officers at Guaymas? None at all. I have always found them attentive and correct. If everyone having easiness with them would take the pains to learn the law controlUns the custom house, and approach the officers in a bnsJ ness like way, there would be no cause for complaint. Mr.

Williard, the American Consul at Guaymas, and a gentleman who Bandies a greater part of the mining ma- chinery and general merchandise entering tne port, oonsigned to Americans and others in the interior, has constant deal ings with the enstom-hoase, and he never has bad occasion to find any fault. When the road is completed from Cala- bnses to Guaymas, what will be running time between the twoplaoes, and the fare? The distance will probably be accom plished in 15 hoars, and the cost about $18. Your road runs through Magdalene and Hermasillo, I balieve. What do you think of those towns? They are both growing, and have bright future. And Guaymas? It will nndoubtedly be a prominent sea port town.
