The $262,000 for the National Guard comes in addition to $50,000 released Aug. 10 from emergency funds by the governor's special order. "I don't think it's appropriate at this time to brief the council on operational plans," Col. Richard Colson of the Arizona National Guard told reporters at the meeting. "We're expanding our air crews and medics in the Ajo area, and with the planned reopening of the Morenci mine we'll be working closely with the Department of Public Safety," he said.

"That support will be logistical." Ruth Kingsley, UA ex-prof, dies Ruth Kingsley, a former professor of educational psychology at the University of Arizona, died here yesterday. She was 74. Kingsley retired from the university in 1975. She was a graduate of Radcliffe College, and received advanced degrees from Harvard University and the University of Arizona. She also attended the Sorbonne in Paris.

Kingsley had been dean of women at Vermont College in Montpelier, and had taught at Pitts-field High School in New Hampshire. She was a trustee of Tucson Behavior Associates and the Tucson Community School, and was a member of Pi Lambda Theta, Phi Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma. Services are pending at Adair Funeral Home's Dodge Chapel. Survivors include a sister, Helen Allen of Tucson; and three brothers, William G. Wattie of Seattle, Robert T.
