20th and ending Dec. 4th. Mr. H. S.

Wayman of Princeton, who has been appointed Superintendent of the Missouri Horticulture Exhibit at the Fair was 'in Neosho yesterday, and in company with Mr. H. G. Richardson inspected the orchards of Mrs. M.

S. Bennett, L. T. Herndon and W. R.

Brooking. At but few places in the state did Mr. Wayman find apples equal to thoje found in Newton County. He declared they were the "choicest" of the choice." According to Mr. Wayman's observation the only section of the State in which apples fared as well as in Newton county is up in the Missouri valley country.

Apples intended for exposition purposes will be gathered carefully, wrapped in tissue and wax paper and forwarded in barrels to Kansas City to b6 kept there in cold storage plants until such time as they will need be shipped to San Francisco. Instructions for packing and shipping together with wrappers, for the apples will be sent to our fruit growers very shortly. At the Exposition apples will displayed in boxes, barrels and plates, and a liberal supply of medium sized apples possessing a delicate flavor will be offered to the public visiting the Missouri Horticulture Exhibit. A jar exhibit is also to be made up, and care will be exercised in getting glass jars of uniform size and clearness. Our orchardists will doubtless be to learn of the opportunity which is offered Newton in being one of the few counties of the state to exhibit apples at a World Wide Exposition.

Anyone desiring specific information is urged to get in touch- with Harry Richardson, who is acting as local Superintendent and will assist Mr. Wayman and our orchardists in getting up a fine supply of perfect apples. DR. N. A.

The train which comes down in the morning stops at Berwick but the one which goes through here east bound at 8:15 in the evening does not stop at Berwick.
