NOV. 21, 1958 Los Angeles Times Tuesday leaving, his widow land died in Queen of Angels Mrs. Helen A. Adams (Lawn Memorial-Park, fol-1 OBITUARIES Mrs. Sophie Steeb (Powell, a born in Mrs.

Sophie S. Steeb, 88, mother of the late pianist, Olga Steeb, died in San Clemente yesterday. A native of Germany, Mrs. Steeb came to Los Angeles in 1882. Her husband, Carl Egon Steeb, played the French horn with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra when it was first organized.

Mrs. Steeb's daughter Olga was an internationally acclaimed pianist. She died in 1941. Mrs. Steeb died at the home of her daughter, Miss Norma Steeb.

She also leaves another daughter, Mrs. George French of Boulder, and two granddaughters, Mrs. Blair Stevenson of Boulder and Mrs. Karl Krucoff of Baltimore. Funeral services are pending with Edward Bros.

Colonial Mortuary, Los Angeles, in charge. Andrew Brown Funeral services for Andrew Brown, 80, will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Pierce Bros. Inglewood Chapel, followed by inurnment in the Chapel of the Pines. A native of Scotland, Mr.

Brown had lived i in California for 54 years. He lived at 10121 Woodworth Inglewood, and died in Centinela Hospital Tuesday. Mr. Brown leaves a daughter, Helen Farquhar, and one grandchild. James A.

Powell Funeral services for James Albert Powell, 75, of 14842 Valley La Puente, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today by Rose Hills Mortuary in Rainbow Chapel. Interment will follow in Rose Hills Memorial Park. Mr. a son, James A.

MaxSan Mateo, and twol (sisters, Mrs. Mary Hadden; and Mrs. Carolyn Rose, both of Riverside. a carpenter, Vincent Constantine Funeral services for Vin-5 cent Constantine, 68, will be conducted today at 1:30 p.m. at Utter-McKinley's Cresse Eagle Rock Chapel.

Private interment will follow. Capt. Constantine, a native of Los Angeles, had served with the Los Angeles Fire Department for 29 years. He lived at 3117 Cazadore St. and died Tuesday.

He leaves his widow Hope; a daughter, Marie J. Stolte: two sons, Norman and Vincent, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Minnie F. Kanter Funeral services for Mrs.

Minnie F. Kanter, 77, of 11767 Sunset will be conducted at 10 a.m. today the Groman Memorial Chapel in Hillside Memorial Park. Interment there will follow. Mrs.

Kanter, who died Wednesday, had been a resident of California for 22 years. She was a member of Histadrut, the Hadassah and the Junior Auxiliary of the Jewish Home for the Aged. She leaves her husband, Harry L. Kanter; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Wolins; two sons, Jerome and Laurence Kanter; three sisters, two brothers and five grandchildren.

Services will be conducted under the direction of Groman Mortuary. Mrs. Lucile Jewett Funeral services for Mrs. Lucile Jewett, 69, will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. in Pierce Bros.

Valhalla Chapel, followed Valhalla by Memorial interment in Park. Born in Alabama, Mrs. Jewett had been a California resident for 45 years. She lived at 221 Lake CALL TOLL May Co. FREE TODAY Broadway, Los Angeles MA.

Adams lived at 105 St. and died at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital Tuesday. She leaves her husband Charles. Thursday at Murphy Memorial Hospital in Whittier. He leaves his widow, Gertrude F.

Powell; two sons, Marion L. of La Puente and James A. of El Monte; two daughters, Loraine F. Pettit of La Puente and Joanne Prothero of El Toro; eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Mr.

Powell also leaves a brother, William of Sunland, and two sisters, Bessie Cooper of Westchester and Hattie Dale of Whittier. Charles B. Smith Funeral services for Charles B. Smith 85, manufacturer and lumberman, will be conducted at Bresee Mortutoday at 1:30 p.m. Mr.

Smith, a native of Iowa, died last Monday at Huntinton Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, after a brief illness. He leaves his widow, Mae P. Smith; a son, Charles B. Smith a daughter, Mrs. Harold Sadring, and a sister, Maud Smith.

A. Addison Maxwell Forest Lawn Mortuary in the Little Church of the Flowers with interment following at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park. Born in Ohio, Mr. Maxwell had been a Southland resident for the past half century. Recently he had been 1 making his home in Laguna Beach.
