I Prenatal class slated for fathers, mothers Community prenatal classes are scheduled to begin at Eastern Plumas Hospital sometime in according to Mary Morrison, director of nurses. Exact date of the first class is yet to be announced. The classes usually last seven weeks, one evening per week. Both mothers and fathers are encouraged to attend. The goal of the course is to acquaint prospective parents with the entire scope of pregnancy, and to prepare them for the new addition to the family.

Topics covered include "how vou get "body changes." "doctors' terms and what they mean," "La Maze breathing patterns and methods for coping with labor." "coaches role during labor and delivery, what to expect when you get home." and much more information. "The motive of the course is to give people--mother and fathers--a chance to know what is happening to them, and an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences," Ms. Morrison said. Further information about the prenatal class may be obtained from Ms. Morrison, at the hospital.

Seniors discuss nutrition program, trip to Carson Eastern Plumas Senior Citizens held a business meeting Jan. 24, and discussed the Senior Service Nutrition Program and the club's next fun trip. Leona Cooper of Quincy, spoke about the nutrition plan available under the Senior Service Program. Harold Yount, acting president, named Katherine McNeil and Fran Briseno as co-chairpersons to look into the program for this area. The group's next fun trip is reported by director John McCann to be set for Feb.

9, to Carson City. The bus leaves from the Senior Citizen's Bldg. at 9:15 a.m. Plans were made for a Valentine's Day party and potluck dinner, set for Feb. 20.

The regular potluck dinner and bingo is held this Sun. evening. Jan. 30, at 6 p.m. The Seniors' 1977 budget was read and approved.

Elementary schoolers turn back to time of dinosaurs elementary school class has turned time back to 120 million years ago, the age of the dinosaur. Books for the study were Dr. Stafford to talk to Pink Ladies Eastern Plumas Hospital District Auxiliary holds its quarterly meeting on Feb. 7. Dr.

Edward W. Stafford will be introduced, and will demonstrate and explain the Doppler machine. Recently purchased by the Auxiliary, this is an ultrasonic device that detects blood clots. Due to Dr. Stafford's schedule, members are asked to meet in the hospital lobby at 12:15 p.m.

Following Dr. Stafford's presentation, the Auxiliary will hold a brief business meeting. Members are asked to bring a brown-bag lunch. Dessert and drink will be furnished. Danny Arauza, Kevin Blanchard, Renee Knudson and Traci Ayoob brought dinosaur replicas to class. An eight-foot paper mache Brontosaurus was constructed by the class, which may be displayed in the school library. Creative writing has been stimulated by the project. Heidi Buckle, for example, wrote "Brontosaurous is having some babies, and he knows it!" Jac Collins observed, "Stegasaurus was one of the first dinosaurs to live on the world." The study was culminated with a slide presentation by Joy Willock, who visited the National Dinosaur Museum in Utah.

She also brought a gastrolite to show. This is a smooth stone from a dinosaur's stomach. A dinosaur's digestive system functioned much like that of a chicken with "grit" used to help digest the food. Treadmill for heart tests soon available in Portola A treadmill has been purchased by the Eastern Plumas Hospital District Auxiliary, for use at Portola's hospital. Price of the unit is $2,000. The new machine will enable local residents to have the availability of electrocardiograph stress testing. a method of determining how much stress can be put upon the heart. 8 A double-ring ceremony on Jan. 8. 1977 joined Chickie Bresino and Vance Hemping in marriage. The wedding took place at the Portola Community Methodist Church with Randy Pierpoint officiating. The new Mrs.

Hemping graduated from Portola High School in 1976. where she was active in the band and choirs and in drama productions. She was also an award winner on the crosscountry ski team. She is currently enrolled at FRC. Hemping graduated from Portola High School in 1974.

He was a member of the championship basketball team and was in the choir. Hemping attended the Fishbeck Photography School in Sacramento, and FRC. The bride's gown. which was sewn by her mother. was fashioned of satin crepe and decorated with seed pearls.

The sleeves, bodice and front panel were of French lace. She carried a bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis. The bride was attended by Theresa Cimaglia. who served as maid of honor. and by Nancy Donnenwirth and Geri Bunch.

The girls were attired in long-sleeved gowns of blue and green polyester print. They carried nosegays of daisies and babies breath. with similar flowers for their hair. Funeral pending for Claude Reavis Claude Reavis of Portola died yesterday (Wed.) morning, at Eastern Plumas Hospital. Reavis, who resided at 188 First was retired from Western Pacific railrod.

He is survived by his wife Doris. Reavis was born in Idaho on Feb. 2, 1913. Funeral arrangements are pending from Manni Funeral Home. Election due for Lady Engineers The Lady Engineers will hold their regular monthly meeting Feb.2.

The couple honeymooned in Reno before returning to their new home in Meadow Valley. Special out-of-town guests included the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Nati Macias from Hayward, and her cousin Mari Bull from Idaho: The Senior Class of Portola High School is sponsoring a turkey dinner on Feb. 5, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the school cafeteria.

Profits from the dinner are to help defray graduation costs and help the class on their trip to Disnevland. Dinner includes turkey with all the trimmings. a salad bar, dessert, and coffee or milk. Tickets and price information are available from any senior. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
