A few thunderstorms are forecast over the southern intermountam region, while sunshine is expected for the Plains, the Rockies and the West Coast. Warm weather should continue around the country, with temperatures in the Gulf Coast states, the southern Plains, the Rockies and the intermountain region reaching the 90s. The desert Southwest and the inland valleys of California will probably reach the TOO-degree mark. Readings are expected in the 80s from New England to the Tennessee Valley and the northern Plains.

Around Lake Superior, highs in the 60s and 70s are forecast. McBride releases list of prominent backers Sen. David B. McBride, a Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, Monday released the first group of names of public officials and prominent Delawareans who have endorsed his candidacy. They include Millsboro Commissioner James Smith, Mayor John Mitchell of Elsmere, Kent County Levy Court Commissioner Louis J.

Giusto and Harry Dukes, senior vice president of Sussex Trust. McBride said he would release on a regular basis the names of those who endorse him. The bill was the last one passed on the last night of the session. Soles seeks 3rd term in House District 23 Rep. Ada Leigh Soles, D-Newark West, has announced she will run for re-election in the 23rd Representative District. Soles, a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, is seeking her third term in the House. Soles lists gettmg more state money for libraries and continued reform in the grants-in-aid process among her major accomplishments this session.

She was a prime sponsor of the Nurse Practice Act and the Financial Disclosure Act, and worked on education bills as a member of the Legislative Task on Education. the heavily Democratic, blue collar, ethnic, Catholic district. Marshall has worked for legislation including opposing abortion and increasing support to parochial schools. A feather Marshall wanted in his re-election cap was passage this summer of the Blue Collar Jobs Development Act, which would give industries financial breaks to create additional blue-collar jobs. The bill, which Marshall floor-managed in the Senate, ran into trouble the last day of the session because of a utility-tax break in the bill that wasn't tied to adding more jobs.

The senate is expected to pass the bill when it reconvenes later this summer. Sen. Holloway seeks return to legislature Sen. Herman M. Holloway D-Wilmington East, has filed for reelection in the 2nd Senatorial District.

The 62-year-old lawmaker has spent 20 years in the legislature, where he has worked particularly for health and social welfare causes. He has been a prolific sponsor of legislation designed to regulate various occupations and professions. If re-elected, he said, he will work to remove some of the red tape poor people face when Harrington to seek Zimmerman's seat Former state Rep. Michael J. Harrington will challenge Sen.

Jacob W. Zimmerman, D-Dover North, for the 17th Senatorial District seat, he announced Monday. Harrington, a Republican, said he will run an aggressive campaign against Zimmerman, who Harrington said "is burned out" after 12 years in the Senate. Harrington said he is running because people believe Zimmerman to be no longer effective and they want a change. He criticized Zimmerman for not being able to find a satisfactory solution to Dover's U.S.

13 traffic jams and a safe crossing at the Delaware State College. Harrington, a 39-year-old Dover real estate agent, is a two-term House member who was defeated for re-election in 1982 by 23 votes. He is married and has two sons. Sen. Marshall files for 3rd District seat Sen.

Robert I. Marshall, D-Wil-mington West, has filed for a third term from the 3rd Senatorial District. Ford, 25, of Nottingham Road, died early today at Wilmington's Delaware Division after a swimming accident near his home Sunday evening, state police said.

Moore, of the 300 block of W. 34th was wanted in connection with the stabbing of a man several months after he walked away from the Plummer Center half-way house in Wilmington in January 1983. Police said off-duty Patrolman Donald Clark saw Moore on the Market Street Bridge, at 18th and Market streets, about 2:05 p.m. Monday, summoned help, and chased him into Brandywine Park where he dove into the Brandywine, swam to the south side, and kept running. Police were instructed to look for a man in wet clothes, and captured Moore in 1300 block of French St.

Moore was arrested on warrants charging him with first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, escape after conviction and two Municipal Court orders stemming from traffic incidents, police said. Monday night after New Castle County police raided his home on Robinson Drive and found a quantity of drugs. Carl Harvey, 33, was charged with possession of methampheta-mine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony and maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of controlled substances. He was released under $11,000 bail, police said. The investigation began two weeks ago after police received complaints from neighbors about the possibility of nearby drug transactions. Officers seized what they estimated was $220 worth of meth-aphi'tamine and $400 worth of marijuana, and a pistol.
