WOOD In Philadelphia, 82; long prominent in the musical life of Philadelphia and an organizer of the Philadelphia String Simfonietta which performed for years under Fabien Sevitzky; her husband the late David Duffle Wood, was a noted blind composer and musician. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday night. Mr. Crossland, a retired employe of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, died yesterday at his home. Mr.

Crossland was born and raised in Bear and had lived in Wilmington 35 years. He was a member of the Red Men and the Knights of Pythias. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Florence Russell Crossland; two daughters, Mrs. Annabelle Latehum of New Castle and Mrs.

Pearl Walker of Newport; four sons, Charles Edward Elmer and Joseph T. Crossland, all of this city: a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Shultz of Wilmington; a brother. Frank Crossland of Townsend, and six grandchildren. Another son.

Pfc. Philip E. Cross-land, was killed in France in 1944. Mrs. 3Iadeline Piovoso Mrs.

Madeline Piovoso. 77, widow of Antonio Piovoso, of New Castle Avenue, Rose Hill, died yesterday at her home. Born in Italy, Mrs. Privoso had lived in Wilmington for 28 years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs.

Florence Fortinpere; two sons. Benedetto and Fiore Piovoso, all of Rose Hill; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held from her home at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning with solemn requiem mass at St, Anthony's Church at 9:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Mrs.

This figure is 140.000 bales less than the 15,219,000 forecast a month ago. Last year's crop was 11,857,000 bales and the ten-year (1937-46) average, was 12,014,000 bales. The acreage for harvest was indicated at 23,323,000 acres. The condition of the crop as of Oct. 1 was put at 82 per cent of normal compared with 72 a year ago and 71 for the ten-year average.
