July 9 (flV-Charging tolls on New Jersey's first I freeway. Route 100, is to be con sidered by Governor Driscoll today I in conference with State Highway Commissioner Spencer Miller, Jr.

Driscoll told newsmen yesterday I that Route 100 would require 000,000 to complete between Wood-bridge and the Newark Airport. That amount of money is unavail able immediately, he said. Pennsville Link The projected freeway is a northern continuation of Route 300 between Pennsville and Woodbridge which Driscoll has slated as a toll expressway. Legislation for a toll authority is ready when the session reconvenes Aug. 16, he added.

Right of way for five miles of Route 100 north of Woodbridge has I been purchased and graded at a cost of $8,000,000, and $3,000,000 hast been set aside for paving. Turning Route 100 as well as Route 300 over to the toll authority would free the paving money for dualizing Route 1 25, and work in urban areas in North Jersey, Trenton and Camden, Driscoll said. It will be some time before enough money is at hand to finish Route 100, and it might be best to find other uses for money than pav ing road that go nowhere, Driscoll added. Route 106 Final Plana Final plans for Route 100 as a I limited access expressway call fori the road to begin near the George I Washington Bridge and Lincoln! Tunnell, and run to the Woodbridge traffic circle, emptying its traffic I into Route 300, Route 25 and the Route 4 parkway near New Bruns wick. Meanwhile, engineering plans are practically complete on a proposed new toll bridge across the Delaware River from Trenton to Morrisville, Driscoll said.

A construction date on the two-year project should be set as soon as Morrisville officials agree, he added. More Workers Strike In Italian Series ROME, July 9 OF). Glass, ceramic and saccharine workers halted work! today in the Italian General Confederation of Labor's (CGIL) series of short strikes for higher wages. The one-day strike is the latest in the CGIL's "calendar" of demon strations. A nation-wide strike of 20,0001 petroleum workers for a new contract continued into its tenth day.

Interior Minister Mario Celba conferred with representatives of the workers. Threat of a railroad workers' strike for higher wages increased! as the general council for the union met to consider action it would take. Corrigan Observes Flight Anniversary LONG BEACH, July 9 (JP). Ten years ago a little Irishman named Doug Corrigan showed an astonished world that the wrong way to fly the Atlantic might be the right way. "Wrong Way" Corrigan observed the tenth anniversary of his famous I flight by taking his sons, Douglas Orville Corrigan, 8, and Harry, 5,1 up on their first flight yesterday.

They took off from the same field Long Beach Municipal Airport from which Corrigan left for New! York en route to Ireland in 1938. Corrigan flew a new plane yester day, but said he still has Old Robin and is keeping the jalopy" in storage. Recently, Corrigan has held vari ous flying jobs. His most recent as signment was flying gold miners from Seattle to Alaska. Suspect Gives Story to Paper Hands Gun to Reporter After Shooting On Coast OAKLAND, July 9 UP) "You're in our way!" yelled reporter Sam Blumenield to a motorist who stopped ahead of him.

Blumenfeld and photographer Paul Burgess just had jumped into their car at the Oakland police station to track down a report of a killing. "Wait a minute, I just. killed man, said the other driver, com-1 ing to Blumenfeld's car with a .45 caliber pistol in his hand. "On Myrtle Street?" asked the surprised Blumenfeld. "Yeah, take this thing, will you, boss?" came the answer, and the gun was shoved into Burgess' hand.

The San Francisco Examiner! newsmen led the driver into the station. Police booked him as Louis M. Smith, 35, and held him for in vestigation. Officers quoted Smith as saying he shot his best friend, William P. Allen.

42, because Allen "was talking about me too much." Allen was killed while eating dinner with friends. Police said the two men. had over a leaking icebox.
